Been through this time and again. A GM is judged by the talent level of the roster and the condition of the the salary cap. FA contracts, draft picks, resigning the right guys and letting the wrong ones walk. That is his job. There is plenty there to debate and count againts Dom negatively without reaching for the win/loss argument. He is not a coach. He is not a coordinator. He doesn't prepare the players. He doesn't make game plans. He isn't calling plays or making any sort of impact on gameday. He doesn't do any of these things and he doesn't pick the men who do. Judging a GM by the win/loss record alone is asinine.
That's a load of crap. GMs are judged by win/loss record, draft pick record, FA signings, and cap management. Dominik is in charge of the organization so they don't win he shares in that. His crappy picks made the coaching staffs have to work with less talent. When he takes Clayborn instead of Cam Jordan or Justin Houston that hurts the defenses ability to pressure the quarterback, which leads to points for their offense and losing records. His blown draft picks like Freeman led to losses for the team, so to say he has no part of the win/loss record is an asinine statement.
Freeman was really his only chance so far to grab a franchise QB...he looked like he would be that in 2010 and parts of 2012. So it is hard to blame him for that. He has been pretty inconsistent in the draft, but has vastly improved over the last 2 years. The last 2 years have been the best drafts we have had since like 95. I am willing to keep give him chances as long as we keep stockpiling talent...we need a better coaching staff...I am sorry this is not a 4-12 roster.
Very foolish. Because Dominik was dumb enough to draft Freeman the Bucs passed on other franchise quarterbacks like Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, Ryan Tannehill, even Andy Dalton. Because he took the wrong quarterback, Tampa Bay missed out on good quarterbacks waiting for Freeman to pan out. But the accuracy flaws with Freeman were obvious when was in college. Same with his sub .500 record in the Big 12. Dominik ignored all that and that is a big reason why the Bucs are a bottom feeder in the NFL. It really is sad and pathetic that so many fans can't see through that.

jdub full if crap indeed
I think the Bucs issues eventually point back to ownership but you can't fire those guys so my hope is they hire a proven football mind to run the operation and direct the team to long-term respectability.Of course, this should happen in addition to Dom and Schiano being fired...

While you make a fair argument, it breaks down a bit on one simple fact. He picked Greg Schiano.
Nope, Glazers picked/hired Schiano after Chip Kelly turned down the Bucs job. Kelly was Dominik's pick all along.
There's no way around the fact that he's just not a good football mind. Even aside from the record, he makes stupid moves all the time. And the worst moves he wanted to make he lucked out because the Redskins and Jets made them for him with Haynesworth and Sanchez.
I'm convinced Dummynik only receives so much support on this board because many on here went to the meet-n-greet he was at , and bought into his Ass-kiss Festival. His track record is a joke. Bottom line.
What part of clean house do ppl not understand? Teams been a laughingstock the past five years. There's no debating that...

Funny but I tend to agree here.
It looks like both Dominik and Greg need to go. But the problem does still lie at the very top in the Glazer boys.
Blow the whole damd program up! Back the truck up and get to packing... It is not working and whats funny is a couple of those top tier teams are in our damd division! and now soon and really 3 with the "cats", but those teams fly around and know what it takes to get down the field when the game is on the line. This "old school" style will not work in nowadays in a pass happy league AND WITHOUT A DECENT PASS RUSH to help Mc Coy. Dom has had SOME good picks, but back the damd truck up and save us more yrs of an embarrassment to the league. The CBA is the ONLY reason the Glazers were tight roped into spending money and gave Dom the check book. WHO really made the picks though.....It seems like Dom lets coaches have influence on WHO we draft...yes they should have imput, but then why do you have a damd scouting department!...Free I really don't think was Doms guy, he was Rahs guy from what Rah supposedly saw while at Kansas.....I finally went and looked at Frees stats on college...........absolutely insane 50% completion rate! Player personnel and the scouting department should have went to the table and told RAH, and Dom he doesn't have the tangible track record;;;lets look at other QB options....Makes me sick when you think that Kapernick and Wilson were there at that time....If Dom does come back and has a lack luster draft we're in for another loooong yr....enough with this staff already time for a change.....As much as I hate Jerry Jones and the Cowboys and trying to buy his way to the superbwel...at least HE CARES enough to make the team better including coaches and Upper management.. .

Can't let you get away with this. You're calling those guys "franchise" because of their team success, eventhough they went to playoffs with other QBs right before they got there, with the exception of Tannehill who just got benched in their shutout loss. 49ers have the #3 defense and #3 running game. In 3 of the 49ers losses they scored a combined one touchdown. Seahawks have #1 defense and #4 running game. I've put the stats up before, they've won games by 50+ when Wilson has like 140 yards and a pick. Bengals have the #5 defense and might not make the playoffs. The sad fact is that Dominik did hit on the QB but could not put a support system around him. Horrible defenses, different coordinators and QB coaches every year. He was supposed to make the playoffs with bottom 5 defenses while the "franchise" guys in his age group are cruising in with top 5 defenses.
All of this could have avoided if we started Luke McCown. We would have been talking about a dynasty by now.
I can't believe people actually want to blow this team up. Coaches maybe. Players? We've got the best nucleus since 1999

Brian Griese worked out well at Atlanta in 2008
