More recently Gruden was quoted as having NO interest in ANY HC position currently available. That's fine by me. I've already had about 6 years more of him than I wanted. The man couldn't maintain what he had, forget about building a team. Bill Cowher is a decent coach, but I doubt that he has a burning desire to get back in it. I suspect Gruden enjoys the attention and the audience in his present role. A camera is as good as a mirror, and the money is easy. Coaching is hard work, even when you don't have to concern yourself with the defense.I can't see the Glazers striving for mediocrity with Jon Gruden. Jay Gruden would make more sense. At least he can make a young QB productive.
This is just LaCanfora making shit up again.
Darn it - I wanted Chucky back!!!
This is just LaCanfora making **CENSORED** up again.
Yep. Until I hear a credible source, this is soooo false.
This is so hilarious and typical of that A$$ clown piece of trash. He's hasn't any class at all. Cussing during a charity fund raiser? It amazes me how some of you people love such a classless scumbag.
I think you're overreacting a bit. I'm sure Gruden had the temperature of the room and he was clearly telling a joke.
Alittle bit? I'd say a lot. I can also say, the "son of a b!tches" comment was not said with the malice it is being interpreted with. Anyone who spends some time with Gruden in a relaxed atmosphere will hear him use that term in joking, even endearing way quite often.
Story isnt true. How do I know? LaCanfora reported it. Dude flat out makes sh*t up.
Pretty much my thoughts. No way this is accurate.
I'm sure the Glazer's reached out to Gruden and Cowher, for help. They probably asked for HC'ing recommendations.
Well if its true, I've gotta commend the Glazers for swallowing their pride so they could make an attempt at getting Chucky back. It was a good try. I also think they were correct in calling Cowher as well. My opinion of the Glazers is changing. They seem to be making good decisions lately.

Agree on the part about him sayin he had no interest in ANY HC job. And I believe him, coaching is work, dude has it made where he is now. The only way I would want him back is, if he had a strong GM overseeing the roster, someone like Ozzie. And he is well past the point of being second fiddle to anyone, so I think its over for his coaching career. Unless some owner wants to turn the keys over to him, and that would be a huge mistake.Cowher is a little different situation, he interviewed twice for the Redskins job, before sayin he would pass on it. So, of the two, I think Cowher would be the better bet to return to the sidelines in the future.
Admitting defeat must've been tough for the glazers.Firing gruden was dumb.
45-51 post superbowl.....coaches with far better records than that have been sent home!!
3 out of 4 winning seasons to close out his Buc's career. But hey lets hire a DB coach lead things and "build through the draft"
LaCanfora is on the PR payroll. Nothing drives traffic on these boards like Gruden

the hiring of the DB coach was a fukk up...but it was still time for Chucky to go.
"son of a b!tches"Actually, it should be "sons of b!tches" not "son of a b!tches".
Gruden got the cheap end of the stick. Who were his qb's? Who was HIS major fa signing? If you were to give him THIS team, and a good qb, he's making playoffs within two seasons. And 9 and 7 seems godlike to buc fans right about now.
If you were to give him THIS team, and a good qb, he's . . . .
dropping Mike Williams in favor of Joey Galloway (and I mean 40+ year old Galloway)?taking another run at Jeff Garcia (and, yes, I mean 40+ year old Garcia) to replace that "good qb" that you would definitely have to GIVE himpoint: you would literally have to GIVE him THIS team and force him to keep it . . . he and Allen never draft many of the guys on THIS team(why do Gruden's biggest fans act like he's "plug and play" Chuckie? Like you ONLY get the Xs and Os guy with none of the "I want Caddy over Aaron Rodgers and I want Charlie Garner" stuff?)
