The Glazers have apparently moved quickly in finding Greg Schiano's replacement, as a report Wednesday night by FOX Sports Jay Glazer says Love Smith and the Buccaneers are finalizing a contract to make him the next head coach of the Buccaneers. https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&Itemid=20&view=item&layout=item&id=9541
This is a great hire. Really excited about the teams future. Was never crazy about the Schiano higher.
PR - When are you guys expecting a press conference??
Crown our ass !!!!!!
Very happy it got done quickly....huge win for the Glazers and the Buc organization as a whole. No guarantees in life but I think we can all say there will be RESPECT associated with the Bucs going forward...
PR - When are you guys expecting a press conference??
Nothing official, but wouldn't surprise me if tomorrow at some point.
Thanks!
sounds like this was in the works with Lovie before all the firing. He was coming here all along...
@DBrooks55: So excited tonight.@TBBuccaneers,Bucs got better tonight with Lovie Smith coming back as the new H/C. Words can't describe my excitement@TonyDungy: Congratulations to the Bucs. I think they made a very good choice in hiring Lovie Smith. Now I'm excited about watching the Bucs next year! This is what I really love about the hire. You have people who have been around the organization excited about it. Also@JasonLaCanfora: Look for Lovie Smith to bring Jeff Tedford as his offensive coordinator and Leslie Frazier as his defensive coordinator@JasonLaCanfora: Some rumblings around the league former Bears GM Jerry Angelo - a former Buc exec as well - might be a part of Team Lovie in Tampa@JayGlazer: Perfect hire for Bucs after what they just went through, Lovie is a grown up, no drama guy who will bring old Bucs tradition back.
No no no no to Jerry Angelo.
Hey MC, if this is as it appears - the Lovie courtship has been in the works for a while so is it plausible to think he may already have evaluated personnel from afar? Not sure if this would open the lid on something best kept under wraps but just curious...
No no no no to Jerry Angelo.
I agree, would love to have Ross from the Giants or Stokes.
Great hire!!!!!
Glad to have a real coach in tampa. Been a looong time coming...get ready for some second half adjustments!
Jerry Angelo is meh , but still an upgrade over Mark Dummynik
