Bootz.. Look at the numbers. Dude had 1 good year (09) 1 decent year (12l and nothing special otherwise. He is a servicable FS, but could easily be replaced with a cheaper faster version who is a true FS.Who said something about hair and size?
Thanks for doing these- always an interesting read.
Thanks for reading and the support- appreciate it.

He grades out positively as a coverage safety. I'm not talking about how many INTs he had in a season or if he made the pro bowl. And why else would fans say he and Barron are comparable. That's so far from the truth.
Style of play... Both are better enforcing. Both are just average in coverage.

Wrong. Goldson can hold his own. He's better than average. Barron would welcome "average" as a compliment.
Dashon Goldson - I could see him being traded for a 4th... A lot of teams need an accomplished SS but that contract is a biatch.McCown "willing" to leave Chicago? Interesting...Thanks
Personally think that Goldson is important to the team in more ways then one. He is very respected in the locker room and Mark Barron, who can really become an All-Pro in my opinion looks ups to him, a lot. Goldson had a bad year but Greg Schiano really made everyone underachieve and only the best of the best actually had a good season, David & McCoy which was solely based on talent.
I'm just curious what evidence you have for that statement. Especially the part about Barron "looks up to him".

I could be wrong, potentially, but through people that I've spoken to Barron loves having Dashon around the locker room. They get along great and work off each other. Dashon has already been an All-Pro and Pro Bowler and thats what Barron wants to become.
Goldson isn't coverage safety. I'm willing to bet the man cant spell coverage let alone do it. He's nothing more than a generic guy who plays 3 deep or quarters coverage like almost every other safety in the NFL. I don't even like him in a cover 2 alignment.Don't argue about if Barron or Goldosn is the better coverage man...they're both bad at it. Accept that we've got 2 box safties and move on.

Yea, you're completely wrong.
The secondary , and especially the safeties , had no idea who they were supposed to cover in Schiano' s defense. Thats come out now from multiple players.
Raiders liking Derek Carr already . . . well, believe it or not I've kind of come around about Derek just in the last few days after blasting the notion that Derek could possibly be that much better than Glennon(I still feel that if this is what our new front office believes . . . they're selling him a bit short). But, I still say getting Aaron Donald next to McCoy means we win over Derek Carr. If we had Donald next to McCoy, Derek is running for his life more often than not; the Bucs will win. Let me express this another way; if you had the choice between a cb and a wr that can help you, how do you decide? You decide on which player will beat the other; if the Corner can shut down this wr that is better than anything on your current roster, you select the Corner! Here we've got a Qb, that according to rumors, our front office thinks is hands down better than Glennon, I still say he can only edge him out, and Derek Carr would be running for his life if we had Donald next to Gerald.
If the 9ers get rid of Jim Harbaugh they are really dumb. For real
I would love for the Bucs to call the Eagles inquiring about Tedford's old stud receiver.
