Hate to ruin everybody’s fun re: possible D. Revis trade but based on my conversations with Lovie Smith, I dont’ see it happening (more)— Roy Cummings (@RCummingsTBO) February 26, 2014Said Lovie: “We’re primarily going to be a man team. Whether we win or lose is going to be based on how we play man coverage.”— Roy Cummings (@RCummingsTBO) February 26, 2014
trading Revis would be foolish. he's an elite talent, you don't trade that away
Remind me how we got Revis again?
JETS were foolish because they couldn't afford him. That's the ONLY reason he was traded. BUCS can afford him so it would be foolish to trade him, especially after giving up a 1st last year JUST to turn around and save a 3rd this year. Giving up a first for a 1 year rental would make the BUCS look like fools too..
Dear lord JC, you REALLY believe some of the crap that you type? You are the biggest spinmeister since rumplestilstkin. Only your yarn is made of dog poop. I can't take the nonsense any more. I have to ask. Are you mentally handicapped?
I'm probably the most educated on the message board.
HAHAHAHAHA...thread over...close it down. Joke of the day.

I don't think it was ever presented as such... other teams are wanting to trade. But, how much cap space would it take to bring in a vet to challenge Glennon... and build a wall in front of whoever wins that battle?

One stupid reporter (Canfora) runs with a lame ass idea/article and this fanbase loses their freakin' minds.None of us should be surprised - right?

Least of all "the most educated person on the boards", mister JC5100
If you wonder where La Canfora got the idea, go back to all the questions being ask about Revis' role when they hired Lovie... and maybe some GMs are asking the same questions.
I think part of this too has to be the fact that his contract is plain stupid. It is unsustainable by any sane team to carry a $16m figure on a non QB. Is it a problem now, no but it will be a problem. You have leverage now because you do not have to move him as opposed to waiting and having a problem which erodes your leverage. Lovie and company have a bye year this year....I mean our owners are screwups but not Jimmy Haslam. If the contract is going to become an albatross you ditch it now, get value to get better for years 2-5 when you are gonna be evaluated.
If they want to replace Glennon with a QB they could pick with the Rams pick, do you say no to a package deal that includes Revis?
Said this on the Insider boardThis is the deadest of dead times when it comes to the NFL offseason . The League year hasn't started and the draft is still over two months away. LaCanfora went out of his way to say the Bucs aren't shopping Revis and no one has made an offer. This was likely a conversation he had with one front office personnel type who gave some particularly compelling reasons why the Bucs COULD do this and he created a story. For page clicks. There really is nothing to see here.

Jets are $26M under the cap and will be $34M under after they release Sanchez. They could have afforded Revis. Schiano and Dominik already are fools for making the trade. And we could get a 1st back for him.
If we did trade him and got back what we gave up, we would have basically gave a 1st in a weak draft for a 1st in a very strong draft.
But wasted $16M of cap space
