You all don't listen very well do you? How many times does love or licht have to say they want him and can use a guy who can play at an all pro level. Did you watch Seattle? Revis is as good as Sherman if not better. Trade him? You are out of your minds
This place is absolute lunacy.
"No validity to Revis trade rumors" - Rex Ryan
Revis' salary is not prohibiting us from signing more players. We are NOT against the cap and still have room to spend. It's not your money, so wo cares?
In 3 years, when we're actually good, that $48M (16x3)of cap space will come in handy.
The idea of monumental theoretical additional cap space for an ownership group that if anything has proven cheaper then their peers is fanciful to the point of lunacy. Educated or not, that shit is plain dumb.
We lack star power for way too long and we are a couple edge rushers from being a top 5 defense. Stop playing madden
Nothing to see here. Revis will be a buc and be used properly next year. That is all.

+1And I would add, be 100%. One of the top 3 players on the team, and fans want to send him packing? He played very well last season, another 3 seasons of peak performance out of him, and the trade is a success. IMO
#1 and #4 from Philadelphia is fair. Would give us#7 overall#22 overall#38 overall#69 overall4th round (PHI)5th6th7th$34M of cap room. Licht and Smith can build the team how they want.
The difference between the 13th pick and the 22nd pick is HUGE. HUGE.
Agree on that. I am not even thinking about a trade scenario. If they restructure him to say, 11-12 mil a year, with some of it guaranteed, its a win/win for both sides.
you keep saying this, but how much guaranteed would you have to give? possibly i dont undertand his current salary. he gets 16 mil guaranteed every year, right?
He does but he has no guarantee he will get the $16m per season? There is no bonus or up front money so as soon as we think he costs too much...*blammo*..he's cut and is out $16m X years left on the deal. If he converts a bunch into signing bonus then he gets that big fat upfront cash plus salary because that upfront hit makes him less not more cuttable like his current deal does.,
Correct. But its actually 13mil, with a 1.5mil roster bonus for just showing up to start the season, and a 1.5mil workout bonus for showing up to OTA's. But those are gimmes, so ya, its16 per.

Rumors don’t usually come out of nowhere so no one should be surprised if Revis gets traded for the second consecutive year. However, finding a willing trading partner could be an issue since teams might not be able to fit Revis under their salary cap at such a high cap number. It’s crazy to think that one of the league’s best cornerbacks could be traded twice in two years but that could be the path Darrelle Revis is headed down.
Some team names start to emerge... and above the Bucs 1st pick. http://www.sportsworldreport.com/articles/27796/20140226/darrelle-revis-trade-rumors-tampa-bay-buccaneers-confirm-interest-lovie-smith-defense-draft-deal-st-louis-rams-oakland-raiders-cb.htm
According to Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht, the team is not discussing a trade for Revis. He said that right now every player is being evaluated, but that Revis is a crucial asset to the roster. The trade talk started once Lovie Smith was hired as the new head coach for Tampa Bay. His defensive system does not fit the strengths of Revis and many wonder if Tampa Bay would move on from the veteran because of it. Licht calls the idea comical.-Seriously guys, how do you read things like this and still stand and argue?
All the rumor says is other teams want him , not that the Bucs are actively shopping him.So while it may not have come from nowhere , it doesn't really mean anything.
This place is absolute lunacy.
lol, true

Assets do get traded, tho'... Really good players get dumped when teams change from 4-3 to 3-4 for example.Seems like a lot of eggs are going in the basket that keeps Revis in Tampa.
