Last year at just about this time... John Idzik claimed he wasn't shopping Revis.
Yeah and we gave them a 1st and a 3rd. It would require AT LEAST that much for us to listen to an offer.
They don't have that 3rd yet,.. and it could drop to a 4th. But I agree. It has to be worthwhile to even consider a trade.
How can it drop to a 4th? If we cut him?
...or trade him before his roster bonus hits...
Oh. Now that the cap has gone up $10M and will continue to go up by $10M each year for the foreseeable future....his $16M/yr contract isn't a big deal to me anymore. I don't think we should trade him and I don't think we will. It would be pretty sick if we drafted Gilbert though. A Revis/Gilbert tandem would be absolutely ridiculous.
That cap boost may explain why teams made contact...
Draft Robinson or Mathews if Manziel or Bridgewater aren't available. If you draft Bridge, the Bucs need to load up on quick receivers, and safety blanket tight ends. Bridge has a shallow arm. Accurate as a surgeon, but not a rocket by any stretch.
Last year the Bucs were the only team interested in Revis. Now that he's healthy other teams want him now. Well I say piss off to all those teams.

Not to mention Banks playing Nickel if Gilbert wins the starting job in Camp. Banks outplayed all the 1st round draft picks last year and should only get better in Lovie Smith and Fraziers defense.

After his combine I'm pretty sure Robinson will be the 1st tackle off the board , so we are looking at Matthews or Lewan if we want a tackle , realistically.
This is from before Lovie's plane even landed in Tampa... http://justblogbaby.com/2014/01/03/darrelle-revis-oakland-raiders/

Uh oh...
Amendola's name has come up in trade talksBleacher Report's Dan Pompei says Danny Amendola's name has been "floated" in trade talks.Amendola posted a disappointing 54-633-2 line in 12 regular season games in 2013 and was an absolute non-factor in New England's AFC Championship loss to Denver. This report comes on the heels of one from the Boston Globe saying Amendola is a candidate for a post-June 1 cut, which would save the Patriots $1.375 million against the 2014 cap. The Pats signed Amendola to a five-year, $28.5 million deal only last March, but his future in New England is in serious doubt.
We do not need to trade Revis, but we would be fools not to atleast listen to offers. There may be a team or 2 that see him as the missing link to a Lombardi trophy and would be willing to give us a favorable package.

Agreed... and if they want to get into a bidding war with each other...
Cowboys trying to shake things up at CB?
Morris Claiborne - DB - CowboysESPN.com's Calvin Watkins suggests the Cowboys could consider trading Morris Claiborne.Claiborne has been a bust through his first two NFL seasons and dealt with multiple injuries last year. He's currently behind Orlando Scandrick as the Cowboys' No. 3 corner and could be shopped for a mid-round pick. Claiborne is entering a make-or-break year in 2014.Source: ESPN.com
