@SI_PeterKing: RT @FearThaSpeer: Do you see the Bucs trading Revis? Would you? ... No. No. Lovie knows he needs top CB, regardless of scheme.
Unless Licht gets a Herschel Walker/Rasta Williams type trade done I will hate him forever! If Lovie approves Licht trading Revis for anything less, I will no longer love Lovie!
What could Denver possibly offer us for Revis? The 31st pick in the draft? No thanks.
What do you need from an over-abundance of players... from the league's best offense to get the deal done?
Yeah and that offense really lit it up in the Super Bowl.
I called Moron Claiborne being a bust from day 1 ....most didn't want to hear it ....Dolorous wins.
What was the handle you were using back then? I went back and read through some of those threads leading up to the 12 draft. You were good with Mo for a while. Compared him to Joe Hayden, said he was much better then Janoris Jenkins. Said he was a better prospect then Talib coming out of KU. Granted, you were always on Richardson's dick hard. No one can argue that. You never favored Mo to Trent. What flipped your opinion was Mo's wonderlic. You trolled homeboy hard from then on without question. Still, I know you weren't using the Dolorous Jason handle at that time. Who were you back then?

Dude, you're killing the thread.
Called it !! Dolorous wins !
Ultimately, I’d be surprised if the Pats got Revis, but I’ve been surprised many times by BB before and I’m looking forward to it happening again.

"Fire Mark Dummynik" was the handle ...which ironically happens to be yet another future prophecy by me .
I found this bit of info interesting...
And even if the Bucs did need to reduce that salary for cap space purposes, they could. Their contract with Revis gives them unilateral power to change Revis’s $13 million base salary into a guaranteed bonus. That means they could shave another $9 million or so off their cap with the stroke of a pen, and depending on what they want to do in free agency, they may decide to do that.

this all much ado about nothing. why would we trade one of the better players on the team when we dont really need to? its not like we don't have the cap room as shown above. he actually played well last year too and should be better this year 2 years removed from the knee injury. as for the whole man/zone thing that is really overblown. Will there be some cover 2? sure, but this day an age everyone mixes coverages and there will be plenty of m2m in there too. lovie has said this multiple times. i know we would like more draft picks but the reality is no one will pay what a top corner is worth. To recoup our investment /loss of talent on Revis we'd require a Hershel Walker type deal. no one is giving up multiple 1st rd picks and then still shelling out 16 mill to the guy. Now if Rutgers was still here he'd give Bill a sweetheart deal and let Revis go for a 4th rd pick and another opportunity to practice against the Pats and bask in their greatness in the preseason. but we have a professional coach here now who won't blush and stutter when Bill comes calling. ;)

Changing Revis' salary this year into a bonus would lower his cap hit this year, but it would raise his cap hit on other years and we would lose the ability to cut ties and have zero cap backlash because of it. It is math people- numbers don't disappear they just get moved.

From the patriots perspective... they would be able to restructure the contract to get Revis instead of having to do a deal with Talib. From the Bucs perspective... that would be a way to make the numbers move.
I don't know why they don't just say STFU like the 'fins did about their 3 players... http://www.sportsworldreport.com/articles/27935/20140303/darrelle-revis-trade-rumors-denver-broncos-interested-champ-bailey-released-new-england-patriots-buccaneers-cb-aqib-talib-contract.htm
Revis is going to quit after seeing the new uniforms. That or they'll make him switch numbers since 24 is a copyright issue with Fox's 24.

Yeah, does he last for more than a day?
