Hopefully we can deal Revis before the draft and pickup a few extra draft picks. If not Lovie can test him out for a year before deciding whether or not we need to release him.Dominiks worst hair brained move bites us.
It was a blast watching Revis dominate opposing receivers last year but if we can get a kings ransom and build up our team in other places by trading him I'm down. However, that bostino article on the last page states we're seeking a 2nd round pick in compensation.... Now that would piss me off, especially considering that I'm assuming new England's 2nd round pick is a very late one.

Yeah. I'd hope for more than that... from Denver.
If we trade Revis for a 2nd rounder , and that's all , then I'm off this regime's bandwagon already. That would be ass rape.
I don't have the time (or patience) to go back through this thread. But quite simply, trading your best player is idiotic. I don't care about the compensation, what you would be doing is "hoping" to come away with a player as good as Revis.Add in the fact that $13 million of his base salary can be converted into a roster bonus (shaving another $9 million or so off his cap number) then it makes even more sense. The Bucs don't need to clear cap space, and they don't need to get rid of one of the top 5 players to ever play the position.

Yeah, and like the bad kind too. I will burn this mother fracker to the ground if that happens.
It would be unacceptable, even if it was the first pick in the 2nd rd. Hell i won't settle for Denver or new England's first rounders either!
What if it included a quarterback?
What if it included a quarterback?
Who , Mallet ??I'm not a fan of Mallet , I think he sucks.
What if it included a quarterback?
Mallett? Pass. Maybe Mallett and their 1st. The Pats are in cap hell. I don't see how they are even discussed. Even if they cut Wilfork, that gets them up to 20 mil. I don't know if that's enough to fill out their roster with minimum contracts and sign their draft picks. Letting go of Amendola actually costs them a small bit.For the Bucs to make a deal for Revis work with NE we would likely have to convert that salary to a bonus so we could absorb all his hit this season. Then we really would be handcuffing ourselves. If a deal with the Pats is the only deal on the table walk the **CENSORED** away. Plus Mallett is going into the final year of his rookie contract. In a fairly quarterback heavy draft year. He is worth next to nothing in trade right now.
Revis is a diva. No way NE would deal for him. Denver maybe....

They can't afford to.

...and Revis has a contract that can unilaterally be restructured down to a $9M cap hit...
