Ok, that was almost 20 years ago. Jim Harbaugh took over a crappy team and has been to 3 straight NFC championship games and a super bowl appearance. Andy Reid just took over the worst team in football and had them undefeated through 9 games, went to the playoffs, and almost won a division that has Peyton Manning in it. Chuck Pagano took over the previous worst team in the NFL and has been to back to back playoffs...enough of this stepping backwards garbage...that's quite literally for losers.Lovie/Licht are already considering replacing members on the O-line. Because that makes sense, and we have/will have the space to do it without cutting/trading Revis. What doesn't make sense is creating new holes on your team when you already have plenty to fix as is. Btw, McCoy's cap hit isn't going up that much, if at all from what he's going to count against the cap this year. And LVD can't even ask for an extension until two years from now(if I'm wrong on that someone please correct me). So, all you would be doing is hurting one area of the team to MAYBE fix another area. I'd rather keep the proven star.
Chiefs were just a product of their schedule. They went 1-5 vs playoff teams, the one win being vs the Eagles without Foles. Broncos won he division by 2.5 games. Colts were the worst team in 2011because Curtis Painter and 39 year old Kerry Collins went 0-11.49ers are the team I'm preaching the Bucs to be. Nobody on their team makes more than $8M and they have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds. McCoy has a $15.6M cap hit this season, the 11th highest paid non QB. Right behind Revis. David can be re-signed next year. When that proven star burns out we're going to be left with nothing.
McCoy is going to get one heck of a big contract. Should he be cut/traded too? What exactly are we saving all this money for? We had the cheapest and youngest team in the league in 2009....where did that get us?
What if it included a quarterback?
Who , Mallet ??I'm not a fan of Mallet , I think he sucks.
Osweiler, but no way Denver trades him.

Traded, yup.We had an expensive team in 2012, where did that get us? Besides missing picks?

That's a dumbass idea. That is all
The point is to keep good players. McCoy and Revis are good players. Guys you don't let get away.

By this logic the saints should trade brees now, he has a huge salary and the saints won't get anything for him when he retires. Maybe the seahawks shouldn't sign Sherman to an extension...and the 9ers damn sure better not hand Kaep 18+ mil/yr since then they'd be paying someone more than 8mil....You don't get rid of your best players and be a better team...
Sherman won't get signed to 16M a year and the other 2 are QBs.
Sherman WILL be paid in the same ballpark as Revis. Both he and ESPN have made sure of that. You dont make people believe your the best at your position and then dont get paid like it. As for QB's, again we don't have one to pay...and wont have to pay a QB that type of money for 4-5 years.
Sherman won't get signed to 16M a year
Does Sherman know about this? You might want to tell him.
He doesn't want his paycheck to be "medio_cre."

Saints are Super Bowl contenders and Brees is their QB.I said in another thread I would pay QBs more than $8M. 49ers have the best roster excluding QBs in the NFL and the fact that they could fit in a $18M QB is a credit to their salary structure. Seattle has alot of leverage with Sherman. His cap number this year is $1.4M and his franchise tag number as of right now is $11.8M. Tagged again in 2016 its $14.2M. He can scream all he wants but he doesn't have the leverage to get $16M a year unless he waits a few years. Remind me how we got Revis again?
With the cap increasing $10M per year for the foreseeable future, there is no reason to trade Revis. Only way I even consider it, if I am Lovie, is if it means I can get a great QB. Otherwise it is a waste of time to even talk about.
