Why don't people want to give Revis another year to prove himself as they do with Glennon?
What?
Finnegan is out of St. Louis... could the Rams be calling?

If you have to ask you don't need to be involved in that discussion.
its the same take home cash plus more time though? that's the trade off, cap relief for more time.not a contract/cap guy so I could certainly be wrong
It's not a cap issue. It's a value issue. The team can absorb the cap hit. The question is can they absorb paying the player this much over current market value.
It's none of that according to this story. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000330718/article/offseason-forecast-tampa-bay-buccaneers Though Lovie's quotes say more man less zone so there's conflicting info. http://thepewterplank.com/2014/02/26/lovie-smith-buccaneers-will-win-and-lose-with-revis-defense-man-coverage/
None of that in what way? It's exactly what I said. I think the "scheme" issue is completely overblown but the first comment in the nfl.com article focuses on the value of the contract. That's the issue.
"Tampa Bay expected to play more zone than man, Revis simply isn't an optimal fit."
Presented as an afterthought to the value issue and you say it's "none of that"?
Nice opinion on someone else's work. Don't mind me while I'm off in the corner laughing.
Zeto.... what happened to Mayhem?

Who is asking Revis to "prove" himself? The issue with Revis, as pointed out in the article you can't seem to be able to read with any comprehension, is one of how much he is paid. If he makes $10 mil a year for the next 4 or 5 years nobody is talking about him fitting in anyone's scheme.

It's not a matter of preventing the Bucs from signing anyone or cap room. If there is an issue it is with the fact he makes $6mil more than the next guy at his position and something like $8mil more than the franchise number for his position and the team will be paying this for him for the rest of his contract. This kind of salary structure factors in with future contracts the team will have to negotiate in addition to potential philosophical issues with simply paying a player as much above market value as Revis is. Maybe the Bucs are comfortable paying him as written in his contract or maybe not but that would be the issue.

He's paid... What's the big deal? People need to get over it.I'll worry about what he makes when he's the reason why we can't pay someone we really need to keep.

It's not me or you who would have the concern.
I must misunderstand something
vinpossible.
gg chace
Yes, it was.
With Champ Bailey out in Denver does this open the door for a possible Revis trade? I hope not.
