Cap space for what exactly? You trade one of the best cover corners in the game (and potential HOF), for what?
A shiny new toy... Thats big for some here.
I can see that.I'm finding that this is one of the worst sites for football talk. Not all, but the loudest voices here don't know **CENSORED** about football.
You know what I find hilarious? All of you idiots were clamoring for Revis last year. A year later, when we have Revis at 100% you want to trade him. Bunch of fucking morons on this site.

Who wants to trade him?

Because he's being paid $6 mil to $8 mil above market. That would be the reasoning....and he's not getting traded at that level either.
Right - so you trade a top 2 player at his position so you can go out and create even more cap space so that you can overpay in FA for someone else who isn't nearly as good. While also opening a MASSIVE hole in the position you just traded. Smart decision making right there.

Again....not a cap space issue assuming there is an issue.

40 pages on trading one of our best defensive players. You tell me.

Mr. Jorgenson deserves a "welcome to last weekend" rejoinder. The Bucs could unilaterally convert 2014's salary to a signing bonus as well so the comments, seen elsewhere, about the Pats converting the current deal make no sense.

The only issue is fan discomfort.
I think you mean fan stupidity.

Yup.
So you trade Revis, the best shutdown corner in the NFL, because he's overpaid in order to overpay on another free agent or two and bring in 1 or 2 unproven college players? Now if all those players you get turn out to be pro-bowlers...that's a phenomenal trade. And that's what the pro-trade folks are hanging their hat on. But if they turn out to be busts...that's a HORRIBLE trade.Considering their draft history, I dont trust the Bucs to make the right picks. This team has been 50-50 with the draft since the Dungy/McKay era ended. Licht hasn't had a shot yet, but remember this is his first draft of his career. So he's likely to not hit on every single pick. Hopefully those mistakes are not as bad as Dom's who busted every single pick in his first draft in 2009.

Tomato/tomáto.
