Joe Haden has been the best corner prospect since Revis and has 100% lived up to his billing and he's still not in the same stratosphere as Revis. Richard Sherman is an absolute beast. He plays a lot of zone, doesn't follow around a number 1 reciever, and only plays one side of the field. The gap between a healthy Revis and the #2 corner in the league is huge. Banks and Johnson with another year of experience will only grow as young, cheap #2 and #3 corners.Unless you can flip him to St Louis for the pick (hell, I'd even swap to assure Bridgewater or Manziel or Clowney) and Janoris Jenkins, might as well keep him.Have people forgotten that his contract is just a bunch of strung together 1 year deals? Why not make this move or make him restructure when we actually have to? All this crap does now is create a distraction.
If he is so valuable and worth $16M......why won't any teams trade for him? Why does nobody want him at that price if it is a reasonable price?
Most teams don't have an additional 24 million in cap space? And when a team acts the way the Bucs are acting, why give up assets when you'll have a chance for him in a couple days?
Lovie has never had a first round corner. He is about to waive the best CB in the game. They aren't drafting a CB in the first round.
Gilbert is a ball hawk and also an amazing kick returner. Two things that Lovie covets. I wouldn't be so quick to write him off.
If he's an amazing kick returned, I could definitely see this happening. I don't know anything about him, but that definitely is a highly coveted skill by Lovie.

Over half the league has $20M or more in cap space right now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeHXzM3s5LM Keep in mind he is 6ft+ 200lbs+ ran a 4.37 at the combine and did 20 reps on the bench which is crazy strong for a corner.

Yes, which means higher salaries from competing teams for each FA. More competition means it is less likely the person you want signs here.

Which makes it that much dumber to cut Revis .
What were Revis and Haden's combine numbers like?

Too bad it doesn't say persuading to trade for... their interest probably wont peak until he is cutRevis in Raider silver and black would be badass... that'd be one of the top selling jerseys guaranteed
Too bad the Browns got all new guys running the show. We probably could have got both their 1sts from the last group of morons!
They know we won't just cut him. I wish these other guys did.We can move up to OAK's spot...it's OAK. They'd totally do it.
Also, Revis was only willing to play for the Bucs while being ridiculously overcompensated. It's like he was charging us an extra fee for making him play here. If he won't work with Lovie to restructure into a reasonable contract...then fuck him. I hope we do trade his ass to the Raiders or Browns. Would serve him right. Interesting that the jets are rumored to be pursuing him. Wouldn't that be some sh!t if they got our 1st and 4th and then got Revis back for free a year later?
P. Schrager ?@PSchrags 2hDon't assume that Revis will be released just yet. I can report that TB has received inquiries from multiple potential trade partners. Retweeted by E P. Schrager ?@PSchrags 2hDeep breaths, Bucs fans. Deep breaths. The phones are, indeed, ringing down in Tampa at the moment. Teams want to talk re: Revis.BOOM!
Pleeeeeeease someone make a good offer!
If only the Rams had cap space....#2 for #7 and Revis.
