This regime is a **CENSORED**ing joke and they have only been in place for about a month.Yeah, release the guy widely recognized as one of the premier defensive players in the league because he isn't worth his salary when you already have well over 20 million in cap space. Not to mention a 1st and 3rd/4th is already invested in him. This team is destined for the basement every year and it is stupid **CENSORED** like this that is why.

Strange times when JDouble is becoming a voice of reason here.Pepsi doing yeoman's work trying to explain the concept of team sport to the sportscenter highlight crowd that can't see past name recognition.Of all the things you would legitimately question Lovie Smith on -- QBs, OL, offense in general -- you would think people would have a little bit of faith in the guy's decisions about defense.  I'm not big on appeals to authority, but damn, I'm not gonna agree with a bunch of starry-eyed little girls on a message board who are pissed mean daddy Licht cancelled My Little Pony over a guy who built a defense that carried Rex Freaking Grossman to a SuperBowl.

If only the Rams had cap space....#2 for #7 and Revis.

This would be amazing. If they could turn Revis into Clowney plus additional cap room, it would be a huge cause for celebration.

Forget the Rams deal. They don't have the cap space.

Back in the 'Nam. I 'mber them days. Don't talk about it though. And no matter how it gets spun, outright releasing him is stupid. Give one good reason given the depth of the secondary, the lack of pass rush, and the decent amount of cap space, oh and I forgot this one, the investment made into him...the natural escalation of the salary cap...why get rid of The Island?Just....no man. And the loss in merch sales will sting some more. And clearly the fan base doesn't quite get it either. So until something happens, and as long as the Gorenet exists, there will be this sort if discourse. I like it. And so do you.

Going to miss The Island. Sure would have liked to see him under Lovies scheme. Visions of a deluxe Richard Sherman. Sigh. Just...no outright release. That would be an epic act of stupid.

Makes zero sense unless they already have a deal in place for Veldheer and Verner.  I can see a trade because he has plenty of value, even at the $16M.  Any team that signs him will certainly have to out bid 5-6 teams so the contract will be huge anyhow, likely with way more guaranteed money.  I would find a release difficult to believe.  There will be a lot of PO'd people unless the Bucs come out of the gates with a BIG and I mean BIG haul.

bad teams aren't looking to trade their high picks for a 29 year old CB that makes $16 mil a year.  It serves no purpose.  That would be incredibly Dum!!!!!!!!

So if we cut/trade Revis and cut/trade Penn and cut Koenen....we have just over $50M in cap space.....and Lovie has said he wants to spend up to the limit. Should be interesting to see who we get with all that jack.We could possibly get Melton and Johnson on the D-line....plus Collins, Schwartz, and Mack on the O-line. Rebuild over 50% of both our lines in one swift move? That would use up $35M to $40M. Still have $10M to $15M left for some smaller signings and rookie class.D - Clayborn/Melton/McCoy/JohnsonO - Collins/Schwartz/Mack/Zuttah?Nicks/Dotson
