if the Bucs got a 3rd and a 4th from the Browns, saved their own third and added $16 million in space . . . how would everyone feel? how about if they later used one of those picks to trade up to get someone significant? How about if they used the $16 million to sign a couple free agents?

>:(  Why in the h would we trade away the best damnd corner in the league if you even can what team will take that price tag!!  Teams have to adjust when he steps on the field.  I will be the first to eat crow if it don't work, but this is just crazy!!!  Just like most teams putting a few pieces here and there would not trade Manning, or Brady or Peterson!!  I know we owe him 16 mil this year...that's the price you pay for the best!!!! Now the secondary will get lit up once again!! >:( >:( >:( >:(I am frustrated fan right now and I hoe those knuckle heads in the front office know what they are doing......Coach Smith I hope you didn't request this!!As always GO BUCS!!

Underwhelmed but not nearly as upset as I would be if they cut him.

considering the only other option this regime is willing to consider is to cut him, getting anything is a win.  Most here want to keep him but it doesn't seem like Lovie does.

I wonder how this factors into Clevelands decisions

NFL.com's Aditi Kinkhabwala reports the Browns are "getting close" with free agents Donte Whitner and Arthur Moats.Related: Browns, Arthur MoatsSource: Aditi Kinkhabwala on Twitter

Cleveland is a good example of a team that HAS to trade for Revis. No way is he picking Cleveland on the open market.

Exactly.  Cleveland getting involved in the trade talks is the only way we can hope for a trade instead of a release.  Teams like Denver and New England were banking on Revis being released as I am sure they thought they could pursue Revis to maybe take a little less to play for Super Bowl team.  However, now that Cleveland is involved, they would have to trade for him to get him

Why not Cleveland? Their offseason has been a circus and this would restore faith in ownership. This would give the city of Cleveland their biggest star since Lebron James. Don't underestimate the ego of a CEO to  make that happen for the city in which he resides in. He's done nothing but bad since taking over in their fans eyes. With all the picks and cap room, can you imagine IF the Browns play chicken and don't trade, and then watches Revis sign with the Pats? The city will turn on their owner quicker than this board turned on Lovie last night....It'll be the Browns. We aren't cutting the guy when we announced league wide he's worth two firsts. What we do here will put the league on notice on how the new regime negotiates with players and other teams. Do you honestly think Lovie and Licht want to announce to the league that they can't get players to negotiate and when teams don't call their trade demands they will simply release the player?Don't underestimate ego on all sides here. The bucs don't have to do anything, and they have the most ego on the line here, even more than Revis. Ego order on this one:BucsBrownsRevisThe more time goes on, the higher the Browns ego will rise and the lower the Bucs will be. When their elevators reach the same floor, he's on his way to Cleveland

The open market for Revis might only be realistically about 3-4 teams.  He will go to the highest bidder.  Cleveland has as good a chance as anybody signing him as a FA.  Plus the coach and him have history and it's a system he already knows. Plus it's not too far from where he is from.
