Did Revis really make a difference for us last year? A 16 million dollar difference? I'm not sure. That's elite qb money. I would like him on the team too. It 16 million dollars can land you more players across the board who can help you out. That's what this discussion is for. I think Revis is a great player but I don't want to pay him 16 million Bucs. We really need to get mah sources back btw. He would have the inside deal.
How many Super Bowls did the Jets win with Revis? He is a great player, but the greatest CB in the game stil doesn't make a big enough difference to make $16M.
Swap First Round Pick with Cleveland/Oakland, get another 2nd and be happy.Maybe Clowney will fall into our leaps

I'd take that in a heartbeat.
If the Bucs can pry a third round pick out of someone, it's a victory. Anything more than that is huge.

fake
Was just reported on NFLN that over 50% of the teams in the NFL have OVER $20mm in cap space currently. Probably a lot of internal discussion regarding #24 going on with teams that haven't even been reported yet. Especially when they whiff on CB's they are targeting early on in free agency.
Revis staying healthy is worth a 1st and 3rd round pick, if and only if, he continues to play at a high level on this team for another 4-6 years. By trading him away for peanuts you cement in stone a terrible net result trade. Trading him for anything less than a 1st round pick is a loss in my eyes. You have to keep him to maximize the investment you made less than one year ago. Just ridiculous. His salary is to high period but we have plenty of space so deal with it for a year and then restructure him like almost every NFL team does with it's highest paid players. It's not that hard. So are we going to get rid of McCoy next year when he's up for 10-12 million a year? If Revis was preventing us from signing other guys we need, then get rid of him. He's not, so just use the best corner in the game for crying out loud.
Oh, I knew it was fake, I was just showing the source.

I'm sorry - that's a really dumb argument. How many Super Bowls did the Dolphins win with Dan Marino? He was the most important piece of a defence that carried a bad QB to two AFC championships. It's a team game. And it's the opportunity cost of the $16 million - there's no superior alternative.

Boom Shaka Laka!!!Getting rid of Revis is beyond stupid. At this moment, it is. And if they don't recoup a first at the very least, well....????
Ian Rapoport ?@RapSheet 56sThe #Bucs have until 4 pm tomorrow to complete a deal for Darrelle Revis until it’s decision time. They plan to take that time.ughhhProFootballTalk ?@ProFootballTalk 2mSource tells PFT the Raiders are not pursuing Darrelle Revis, but the Browns are.& ughhh
