Since Lovie's introductory press conference he has said Revis isn't going anywhere. And then this past week Frazier said Revis will be a key part of the defense. Why some keep talking about trading him is baffling. It's not going to happen, folks, unless someone calls us and gives an offer we can't refuse. Lovie is a defense-focused coach....why would he shop one of the best players on the team? Especially if we are trying to bring back a culture of defense to Tampa?

i'd like to see him in a competent NFL scheme a full year removed from the knee surgery.

I hope he is here for the long term also, but their thinking could be, if they go into full rebuild mode, give the guy a break and let him play for a serious contender his last few seasons.

Revis doesn't count as 16 mill against the cap. He didn't last year, he won't this season. They can, and will restructure it in a way for him to have a low-cap hit, via bonuses (like VJack did last season). So stop bringing his 16 mill like it's killing our cap. IT ISN'T.

Actually yes he did and yes he does count as $16 million against the cap for the next 5 years. http://www.overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Darrelle%20Revis&Position=CB&Team=Buccaneers

Assuming he plays out that contract.  It wouldn't surprise me, if they re-do that contract this season.  So the cap number could change. That original contract he is on now, was all about seeing if he is healthy and will he return to form. And I think both of those questions have been answered already.

Revis' cap number was $16mil in 2013 and it will be again in 2014 unless he's let go....with no dead money....or restructured.

False

Ok. I'm all ears. Tell us what number he counted vs. the cap last year and in 2014 and for years in the future.
