its sad when people are claiming 7-9 as a reason to be happy about a mediocre coach that rode bad qbs like kyle orton and rex.
I think the issue is, aside from hiring a college coach with a winning record, you will be hard pressed to find an available coach without some short-comings. In other words, there are reasons that coaches are fired and become available.
my displeasure with this is... rich mckay is the reason our cap figure got screwed, or at least was the gm in charge when the contracts were pushed out and the inevitable salary cap hell had to be paid. and lovie is dungy all over again. We've lived this, why go back to "oh so close"?
get me jay gruden or adam geese (spelling is off I know) from denver, and lets do something better then "we almost made it"
Stokes as GM ...and then maybe lure O'Brien? Greg Roman? Bevell?Seeing as they went so hard after Chip (then having to obviously SETTLE with Schiano) I'd bet they really want an offensive minded (exciting) guy...
They must be fresh out of ideas...
if lovie wants to come back as d coordinator, awesome. otherwise thank you but no thanks
“@JasonLaCanfora: Several people close to Lovie Smith had told me in recent days that if the Tampa job opened up, it would have a particular allure to him...”
I can see Lovie, but McKay? Really?
My Dream Front Office Team. GM - Scott PioliHC - Mike ZimmerOC - Kyle ShanahanDC - Lovie Smith
No issues with that. Wouldn't be the sexiest thing in the world, but you bring in a good OC with Lovie, whether it's Chudzinski, or Kubiak, or Kyle Shanahan, and that could be a really strong staff.
Lol **CENSORED** no to these guys.I highly doubt Lovie is going to take a DC coordinator position. Stop these coaching dream teams guys
Lovie works, you will watch his OC hired carefully. I'd love for the Browns staff to get terminated and bring Norv in here. He is a guy that should appeal to a guy like Lovie.McKay don't have the hate for him some do. The cap blew up because we had actual talented people on the roster at one point and it is hard to pay guys.
Zimmer!!!!!!
8 hc positions last year and he was offered 0 of them. im sure it was totally because he took time away and not that he wasnt seen as a vaible candidate. he may have to take a dc position to get himself back.
Lets just hope that regardless of who, that the Glazers don't lose out on top to good options for GM/HC by taking two months to decide on a guy.

This is a real problem given our previous decision making disorders.
