Realistic Draft Trade Possibilities for the Tampa Bay Bucs By Rick Brown , Featured Columnist Apr 27, 2015 Chris O'Meara/Associated Press Jason Licht showed everyone he was not bashful making moves in his first year as general manager of the Tampa Bay Bucs last year.In addition to making pre-draft trades (receiver Mike Williams to Buffalo and center Jeremy Zuttah to Baltimore), he made one draft move to get offensive lineman Kevin Pamphile.Yet, Licht is not a "Riverboat Gambler." He is calculated with his moves. He just isn’t making moves for the sake of being active. He believes every move is a benefit to the club.With that said, if he wants to wheel and deal, he has the ammunition to do it.The Bucs have eight picks going into this year’s draft, including the coveted No. 1 pick overall. The team has a pick in each round and two in the seventh. It is likely the club will be able to wheel and deal if the right player is still on the board.Licht said he will listen to offers even for the top pick.With that, let’s take a look at what could happen during this year’s draft.Bucs Trade No. 1 Overall Pick to Jets for No. 6 and Future PicksEric Gay/Associated Press The Jets are not sold on Geno Smith at quarterback and if they really want Marcus Mariota, they’re going to have to jump the Tennessee Titans at No. 2 to ensure they get him.Tampa Bay will listen for the right price but it would have to be at least another first and third, and likely a four this year to make it enticing. That's a lot but there is precedence, just as the St. Louis Rams and Washington Redskins (Robert Griffin III).By making this move, Tampa Bay would send the draft into a frenzy and could open the door for the Bucs to nab a rusher like Dante Fowler from Florida or even a Leonard Williams from USC. Heck, the Bucs may still be able to get Jameis Winston at No. 6 with Jacksonville, Oakland and Washington locked in at quarterback with the third, fourth and fifth picks.I don’t see it happening, however.Winston is projected to be a franchise quarterback. Those don’t come around too often.Bucs Trade RB Doug Martin and 3rd-Round Pick to Minnesota for Adrian PetersonGenevieve Ross/Associated Press After a banner rookie season, running back Doug Martin has dealt with injuries the last two seasons.With Peterson not wanting to be in Minnesota, the Bucs could look for an upgrade. A healthy and motivated Peterson would make a rookie quarterback’s job a lot easier.Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson said the Bucs could be a possible landing spot.The sticking points could be the draft pick Minnesota wants and Peterson himself. He’s due to make $12.7 million in base salary, according to OvertheCap.com and would count $15.4 million in cap space, unless he renegotiated.If Peterson agreed to renegotiate his contract, the Bucs may pull the trigger. If not…..Bucs Trade RB Doug Martin to Minnesota for Future PicksPhelan M. Ebenhack/Associated Press The Bucs are happy with second-year back Charles Sims and think he can be someone special. That makes the former first-round pick Martin expendable.If the Vikings get the price they want from another team, they could be in the market for a back that has had success in the league. Martin would give them that.Unfortunately, the Bucs likely wouldn’t get anything higher than a fifth-round pick for this season. Still, the club could use that extra pick to ensure it gets cornerback Bryce Callahan from Rice.Or, the club could target a running back like Matt Jones from Florida, a player who works better in a rotation and could be a change of pace back. Jones, a true junior, did rush for 817 yards last year for the Gators.Bucs Trade 5th- (162) and 7th-Round (231) Picks for Miami’s 5th-Round Pick (150)Bob Levey/Getty Images This allows the Bucs to get the player they really want. This is a classic Licht move. Depending on how the board is going, the Bucs may need to get in on Callahan earlier. Miami has two picks in the fifth round at 149 and 150 and may be willing to part ways with one.Tampa Bay has moved up before.The Bucs used the fifth round to move up last year to select lineman Kevin Pamphile. Could lightning strike twice?      Tampa Bay could use the pick to take that second offensive lineman – Jarvis Harrison, from Texas A&M, who could just be waiting for someone to nab.Harrison will be an interesting pick here because it’s obvious the Bucs know about him from scouting Mike Evans a year earlier. The Bucs could use a guard who is agile and Harrison would provide that.link
