Or will he be back on the practice squad? If I'm Trask I'm taking this big hint (or kick in the rear) to try to hook on somewhere else.
I think everyone wants a clean slate at this point.
Bucs invested a 2nd rounder, and he was around Brady, Arians, Lefty, Thad Lewis, Moore, Canales, Coen and Grizzard. That is a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience. They probably expected more from Trask.
Trask was drafted into a team that was in a win now mode and didn't have enough reps. Bucs are still operating in a win now mode so Trask had very little chance for needed reps to prove himself.
I think it’s very likely trask latches on somewhere else but that this may be his last year in the NFL
IMO Trask doesn't fit the mold of a modern NFL QB. But like some here believe, he may catch onto another team as back-up insurance.
Trask is hard not to like, but that wasn’t how they were grading him. I have never been a fan of that particular draft pick, especially using a 2nd rounder on him, but I’ve said before I believe it had Arians fingerprints all over it. I don’t think a lot of those who contributed to that draft pick are in the building anymore.
We’ll see if he finds a home. If not, then he could come back to the PS, I think the organization likes him and he knows the offense.
I think the roster limit for QB’s sped up the clock on his exit.
A bust through and through. Absolute dog shit pick from Licht high on his own supply
In the eyes of the franchise, he has found his value. Doubt his fans see it that way.
Trask-Force is leaderless now, for awhile. My bet is he’ll find his way back to he Bucs practice squad.
Oops, take Vegas off the Kyle Trask landing spot list. Browns just traded for Kenny Pickett to them for a 5th rounder.
hmmm… who’s next? Falcons, Carolina, or Buccaneer PS?
Did the conspiracy just get bigger…?
Well sure that a team will need a backup QB one that is capable and plus bring veteran leadership!
Hopefully he sticks around, Arians had a memory seared into him when he had to start Ryan Lindley for a playoff game, He had palmer for 6 games, stanton, logan thomas(the tightend), then ryan lindley. Bowles was there for that season too
So it'll be a good idea to keep Trask around.
Also how do you go to the playoffs playing 4 qbs that season gotta be a pretty dam good coach

Yes, with you on that.
It is interesting though because it shows you they thought they would be recovering from the Brady era for a while (ie in need of cheaper drafted players). Mayfield "ruined" all of that.

yeah it was one of those unique drafts that most fans knew it was a terrible draft from the start. i mean 2 of the first 4 picks, you absolutely knew were terrible - one projected as a career back-up QB and the other a kick returner.
Still, 2016 is current the leader for Licht all time low classes with Hargreaves, Spence, and Aguayo in the first 2 rounds.
SR
1. Trask took a hit to his shoulder on Saturday night against the Bills and that likely would have made him questionable for Week 1.
2. Bridgewater threw two perfect, eye-opening touchdown passes in Pittsburgh
"Several NFL teams that wanted to upgrade their QB2 position made it clear they were interested in signing Bridgewater to their active roster if the Bucs released him and tried to sign him to the practice squad."
3. Undrafted free agent rookie Connor Bazelak had a sneaky good training camp and played really well in the preseason.
he also mentioned not carrying three QBs

hilarious that he mentions the hit as #1; like come on man, we are wrong sometimes, the hit has nothing to do with him getting cut 😂

Luckily Licht has delivered in other drafts and at key positions. I LOVE this years draft.
But that Trask draft arguably cost us a repeat opportunity. It was top to bottom atrocious. Truly lost his mind on that one. He even let Brady make that 4th round pick selection. Insane
