30 TDs for Jameis as a Rookie?Justin Pawlowski @CommishOnlineMay 03, 2015 What should the proper expectations of Jameis Winston be as a rookie?Expectations are obviously high for Jameis Winston after being drafted 1st overall by the Bucs. Fans expect him to come in and change the Buccaneers fortunes. How soon should should fans expect to see success on the field from Winston? Well, former NFL head coach and current ESPN analyst, Herman Edwards, does not believe it will be long.Appearing on ESPN Sunday night, Edwards joined Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, and Tedy Bruschi to give their predictions for the rookie class.
30 touchdowns for Jameis Winston as a rookie?!?!?Trust me, we'd all love to see it, but let's temper our enthusiasm here. Winston will struggle as all rookies do. The key to his success will be how he recovers from those struggles.I do expect the Bucs offense to be much improved in 2015 and for the Bucs to win many more games as well, but 30 touchdowns is quite the number for any quarterback, let alone a rookie. 30 touchdowns would easily be a Bucs record for most touchdown passes in a season by any Bucs' quarterback.I understand why people are excited, but my advice is to just sit back and enjoy something the Buccaneers franchise has never truly had...a franchise quarterback.
