Edge is another spot where they already brought in a veteran who didn't work out. In both cases they did sign the vet before the draft and ended up using a Day 2 draft pick at that position. If the Bucs are still pointing toward 2025 that's one thing, but I think they have a taste of success in the playoffs and they want seconds.I still think the Bucs need to add a veteran RB. They had Edmonds on the team for a reason. Whether Irving and Tucker can run block and do the little things right when the shit hits the fan during the regular season is unknown. There are veteran RBs who have been cut loose. Whether any of them have anything left in the tank I don't know. Samaje Perine is one possibility.
I can understand the intent, but the team & staff feel they have the “right guys” - and are only looking for the same types. Not sure they will target a 4th RB when there are some other position groups where we’re even thinner.
Edge still comes to mind.
They did bring in an OG so they may not be done adding another guy or two. IMO the thinnest position is inside linebacker. David, Britt, Dennis and Russell are fine if they all play at the upper end of their capabilities, but I just see the potential for some struggles at that position.
I still think the Bucs need to add a veteran RB.
Jesus…are you still beating this same old tired drum?
Smh…
You don't need a "veteran RB" when you have a 3 year starting RB on the roster. If we had a bunch of rookies and 1 year players, sure it makes sense to. Seeing White has playoff experience under his belt in his two seasons here - I think it's safe to put that need to rest. As those stakes are as high as it gets.

Don’t be surprised if … Bucky Irving has the best year of any rookie running back.
What I’m hearing: Rachaad White is still the starter in Tampa Bay, but the Bucs would really like to see him improve on his 3.7 yards per carry average that he has put up through his first two NFL seasons. Irving, their fourth-round draft pick this year, has impressed the coaches in camp and during the preseason, and he is a candidate to earn a lot more work if White and the run game don’t improve on last season’s inefficiency. Irving rushed for 1,063 yards and 10 touchdowns at Oregon last season.
The Bucs are thin in a few areas, but RB isn't one of them.

White being in street clothes for both games tells anybody with a clue that his spot on the depth chart is secure.

It's cute that you think you're making a valid point, here. The gullible and ignorant soak up coach-speak and press clippings. Meanwhile, White is still #1 on the depth chart and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
Can you tell us once more how much of a fan of White you are, while also actively campaigning for Irving to supplant him atop the depth chart? Do you like the sensation of sitting on a fence post while straddling that fence? Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.
You're simply not good at this.

It is possible "your" actually smarter than your posts suggest.
Possible.

Biggs, every time you go out of your way to troll .. . it comes right back into your face. That you dont see that is . .. well . .. THE POINT lol
By the way, add our GM to the LONG list of football people who disagree with your claim that there was "NO correlation" between running and passing in the NFL:
Licht - "Everybody’s very excited on that side of the ball for what we are capable of with the run game, which is going to help the entire team. “It’ll help with ball control, it’ll help the defense, it’ll help the passing game – everything. So those are some of the things I’m excited to see hopefully continue."
He probably thinks PFF stats are subjective too . . .
I think if they were worried about how White fits in to the scheme we would have seen him get some action in the preseason games.
Exactly. White being in street clothes for both games tells anybody with a clue that his spot on the depth chart is secure.
”Bowles on his backfield: “I think it’ll be a game-by-game basis. You normally go with the hot hand, but since nobody has played yet, you know, obviously Rachaad [White] starts and then we’ll kinda go from there and see how the other guys are used.”
lol

I mean, this is the same Bowles who said White was the 2nd best player on the defensive side of the ball (and that he'd be part of this team's future) less than 12 months ago. He was also the same Bowles who said he'd be hands as it pertains to the offense.

Let's hear from the guy who actually IS running the offense:
“We want to obviously get guys involved,” offensive coordinator Liam Coen said. “But Rachaad is the guy. He’s going to start the game and he’s going to keep playing, and Bucky (Irving) will get his specific stuff and be able to play. And when Sean (Tucker) needs to go in there and give those guys a blow, he’ll do a great job as well.
“Ultimately, man, it’s Rachaad’s show,” Coen said.
Naturally, this was from the exact same presser where Bowles is being quoted.
Weird...
Let the dork have his coach-speak. It’s all the ignorant rube has.
We’ll see who starts and gets more carries on Sunday. And the week after that. And the week after that. And the week after that. And the week after that.
