At some point, you have to actually play defense, and make stops, for several games.
You nailed it, if your strategy isn’t persuading any…then it’s not everybody else who doesn’t get it.
My bet is, we focus on defense in this draft because the Bucs know it’s time to focus on the defense.
Don't know which thread it was but I posted the run/pass ratios in the close games and it was ridicuously high in favor of the pass.
You're nitpicking AND cherry picking.
No offensive coordinator is perfect. Coen pitched a hell of a year but he's not without fault or criticism... Much of what you're saying I SAID LIVE DURING THE GAMES.
The difference is the conclusions we draw. Everyone else sees the offense as elite but could have been better situationally.
You see Coen as bad...
We are not the same

Coen called the jet to McMillan Week 18 and it went for -6. He called it again in crunch time and you know why it fumbled? Because it was going for negative yards again.
So yea, that’s being a bad play caller.

Can you imagine if Captain Cosplay showed even a fraction of this energy towards Bowles’ ineptitude or the defensive struggles that occurred the majority of the season.
Just a fraction…

You know having Wirfs on offense is like having (insert any Top 7 pass rusher of all time in his prime) on defense.

Yeah but we had to struggle with Breadson failing to get to the second level so it's a wash. Right?

He was critical of him at times but the conclusions he's drawing are insane.
Offense was elite.
Defense was bad.
It doesn't take advanced analytics to see it

I know. That’s why I had him as the best tackle in that class.
You had him as a guard.
We move on…

We're not moving on. I had him as my #2 OT with the caveat that he would be a Hall of Fame Guard.

Calling a text book average defense bad is the insane conclusion. I know I know, being up 17-13 with the ball in the 4th qtr after a franchise historic goal line stand doesnt count for reasons made up because you all hate Bowles. Defense HOLDS 1st and goal at the 1 up 4 in the 4th qtr of a playoff game, offense turns the ball at the 13 yard line and the conclusion is blame the defense.
Saints shoved the jet sweep up Coen's ass 7 days earlier, lets call it again in the biggest drive of the season!

It wasn't textbook average. That's where you're on an island. It didn't force turnovers or punts or 3 and outs.
It played better vs bad teams with backups in down the stretch.
We're not moving on.
Oh, we’re not?
I’ll assume that means you’re now ready to provide the other 14 first halves of offensive breakdowns.
Proceed…
Upgrading punter helps the defense work with a bigger field to pin teams and may help the Bucs O work with a shorter field. But the defense has to force more punts and turnovers. That is what Bowles wants which is why Bowles to me looked more concerned about the punting situation than what the offense was doing throughout the season and the playoffs.
Get this turd out of here. He's going to cause problems in his contract year when he's on the sideline.
