Before the season started I predicted that Gerald McCoy will have his first Double Digit Sack Season, I also predicted that Robert Ayers would be pressing close for double digits as well. I didn't have a solid prediction on Noah Spence... But Jay Hayes is doing a great job bringing this unit together.
At the time of this post:
Gerald McCoy: 6 Sacks (10 games)
Noah Spence: 5.5 Sacks (11 games)
Robert Ayers: 3.5 Sacks (in 7 games)
With 5 games remaining, if McCoy, Spence, and Ayers stay healthy... we could possibly see all 3 with double digit sacks (assuming Ayers goes on a tear down the stretch).
I am going to stick with my McCoy prediction, I believe this is the breakthrough year for him. Noah Spence has been quietly coming along here... His 5.5 Sacks come along with 3 Forced Fumbles. Ayers is finally healthy and he definitely brings that nasty edge to the defensive line.
I'm excited to watch this group down the stretch. Who do you all think will crack 10+ this season?
