Well, we didn't need this. was hoping they run with winston.....
Kamara should be in trouble, but I won't be shocked if he got out of it again.
Bad news for Winston.
Bucs won’t be any good either way , so Carr to the saints means nothing
Look for Fournette to sign with Saints after he us cut by Bucs.
Greg Auman:
Saints' team 2022 passing stats: 24 TDs, 14 INTs
Derek Carr 2022 passing stats: 24 TDs, 14 INTs
Saints' 2022: 66 percent, 3,969 passing yards
Carr's 2022: 61 percent, 3,522 passing yards
Upgrade or Dalton 2.0?
Saints become instant favorites in the division
but if we are being honest with ourselves, how much "joy" did we get out of last year's 8-9 season and ass whooping in the first round of the playoffs?
we experienced being one of the best teams in the league in 2020 and 2021. it was great to witness.
if we want to get back there this decade, we need to get ourselves a franchise QB in the draft or via trade; a guy that will be our guy for the next 15 years.
best way to do that is build up the team through the draft this year, get the cap right, get an offensive minded coach to lead the QB.
The #Seahawks and QB Geno Smith are finalizing a 3-year, $105M contract extension, per @Schultz_Report. The Comeback Player of the Year cashes in. An incredible story gets even better.

Geno Smith has been around for 9 years and has 64 career touchdown passes. 30 of them came last year. Good for the Seahawks to take a chance on him but we can only be thankful the Bucs didnt sign him
same goes for Daniel Jones, we can only hope the Giants lock him up with alot of money. dude had 15 touchdown passes last year.
The saints are always in it to win. We have been saying the saints are going to rebuild and they just kick the can down the line. I hate the saints but at least they try to win every year. They've been doing this even when Brees retires people said they should rebuild but they've looked better than we ever did prior to Brady. They try to win. We do too but not consistently enough evidence of rebuild. I guess not too soon to say we will do something different but it looks like boring rebuild you don't know if you will be successful with it but at least you sold you fans on it while saving some money. It's a losing move post Brady imo. They should keep trying to win imo.
There’s two schools of thoughts
the Bucs from 02-08 tried to win every year but didn’t try and develop a #1 QB. The results were a superbowl led by a legendary defense which don’t exist in totals NFL and 2 other playoff births but never a real threat to do damage
the Bucs from 09-19 tried to develop 2 QBs and didn’t make the playoffs in a decade. But also had 3 defensive minded coaches during that tenure so not ideal with young QBs
bucs went all in 20-22 and got themselves another Super Bowl. They feel they have bought some goodwill from the fans in this
i just hope they learn from their mistakes, reset this year and if trask ain’t the answer, draft a 1st round QB in 2024 with offensive minded head coach
Saints continue to prove the salary cap is a myth.
Carr is maybe the 15-18th best qb in the league. Solid but not a game changer.
I'm glad the Saints did this...
It's a lot of money for a middle of the road QB. I'm not saying they overpaid, but they are committing a lot of cap money for a guy who couldn't get it done at his last stop. Will it transform the Saints into a contender? Or will it just keep them as an average team? He doesn't scare me. I don't see that the Saints have the division locked up or anything.
No doubt carr didn’t accomplish much with raiders but we are in agreement he is currently the best QB in our division, right ?
Seeing stories like this just make me wonder how teams like the Saints and Rams who are supposedly always massively over the cap always seems to be able to add pieces without blowing up their teams, but we are going to have to gut the roster just to get to cap compliance forget about actually signing any significant talent.
