I have my own personal spiritual beliefs, and I am at peace....it just bothers me to no end when I see people like Escobar try to belittle gay people by labeling them sinners, when he himself lives his life based on a fairy tale. Live and let live. Is that in the bible? It should be.
Oh, I wasn't coming down on you, JD. As a life long Christian who tries to love everyone equally, it pains me to no end when I see people use the Word as a weapon to damage others.
Who am I damaging by defending those who don't want to be forced to shower with gay men? Are you disagreeing that homosexuality is a sin?
Don't come at me with this bull**CENSORED**. I promise you I know the bible a million times better than you.
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law — Romans 13:8-10
Go to bed. Don't come back.
There's just one small issue with this. You're taking my defense of straight men in a locker room as hate for gay men in a locker room. You're equating "love" with "acceptance of everything regardless of what it is". That's new age "progressive" nonsense and it has no place in Christianity. You're implying that God is a liberal who hates straight men for not wanting to shower with gay men, because that's not "love". For someone with such profound knowledge of the Bible, you sure have a lot of things twisted. Go figure. Any other lessons for me tonight?

Just one. A man is born and single-handedly turns 1000 years of conservative, hateful, bigoted tradition on its head and creates a worldwide religion based on love, acceptance and harmony and dipsh!ts like you don't think he was liberal or progressive.
It's in the bible."Do unto others.."And for the people who say fairytale, ..you can't even comprehend gravity, or cure the common cold. You don't know the entire history of the planet.Yet you pretend to know for certain god doesn't exist?
You hate Christianity because you hate accountability.
No. I hate Christianity because organized religion is complete bullsh!t and it causes much more harm than good. I already know the difference between right and wrong and I don't need to fear a god or hell to make the right decisions in life. I choose to believe in myself and the people around me instead of pretending some mythical being is controlling everything. You think you can do anything you want and then repent and be forgiven....but I lack accountability? Think again.
Humans cause more harm than good, because that's how humans are, evil sinful creatures. Christianity isn't evil, men are evil. You need to learn the difference.

So in other words, Jesus would be completely okay with gay marriage, and the gay lifestyle in general. Because that's "love", right? Confirm this is what you're saying so I can throw you into the fraud category that Vin is in when it comes to Christianity. 2 Corinthians 6:14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? What a homophobe God is, huh?
Are you god or jesus? Do you really know how they feel about it? Or you just saw it written in a book by other men besides the ones you are talking about? Unless they wrote the book themselves how can you speak on their behalf?
I think you need to study up on the Bible, where it comes from and what it means. Your question is one of extreme ignorance.
I think you need to study up on the Bible, where it comes from and what it means. Your question is one of extreme ignorance.
No, it's ignorant to believe everything the bible says coming from someone that isn't the actual source.
Here's some more for you B4E:1 John 2:15-1615 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. You're taking a worldly progressive view and trying to mix it in with what the Bible says. What does Jesus say about that? Here's a hint, it's not what you're claiming. Are you sure you know " a million times more about the Bible" than I do. You are making some amateurish mistakes. Homosexuality is a thing of this world, the "progressive" movement is a thing of this world, using "love" to con people into believing they have to accept any and everything is a thing of this world. You should be a bit more careful using the Word, you're using it very irresponsibly.

I don't care if you throw me into any categories. You're trying to trap me with something from Romans 1 or Galatians or something else from Paul or Timothy's letters. Tell you what, why don't you go start a thread about it down in the Cove so I can ignore it properly. To answer your question: would Jesus be completely okay with gay marriage? Of course he would. Jesus doesn't care about marriage as it's an entirely human invention that God doesn't care about. The "sacrament" of marriage was invented in about 900 by the Catholic church and didn't exist before then as a religious entity. And in fact, officially, marriage as a truly "religious" entity wasn't formally declared by Catholics until 1908 with the Ne Temere decree. But go ahead and pull something out of your ass, just don't do it here. This is a football board and I won't be replying to anything else here on this topic.

The point is the bible is written by different people and shows a lot of contradictions. The only way for people to really know how god felt is if he had written himself. Even Jesus, but he didn't write it either. The bible is just different peoples theories, stories, and laws/rules. There's no proof that this is how god or jesus really felt.
Luke 16:18"Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.

Some more for you:Ephesians 5:11Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. James 4:4You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Titus 2:11-12For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.Sure sounds like your "love" argument is sinking fast. These verse were designed specifically for people like you. People who want to put a worldly spin on Christianity to make it more to your liking. Well, sorry, but that's now how it works. You can't change Christianity any more than you can change your own race. If you don't like it, tough, but you should probably stop twisting God's words.Your thoughts on gay marriage really show how flawed your interpretation of the Bible really is. God hates homosexuality, the sin, yet he's perfectly fine with gay marriage? Tell me you're joking. You might be the most uneducated Christian "scholar" I've ever encountered.
