Watkins ran a 4.34 40 today at the combine. I'm imagining an offense with a burner (Watkins) on the outside with someone who is superb at coming down with the jump ball (Jackson), and a guy who seems like he would be an ideal fit at slot receiver (WIlliams). http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/0ap2000000328341/Watkins-impressive-40-yard-dash
Watkins did not exactly light it up in the positional drills - had a bunch of drops and only made half-hearted attempts to catch balls that were not well thrown. Paul Richardson, Donte Moncrief and Brandin Cooks really looked good. Cooks is likely a first rounder after this.

The game tape shows that he's pretty good about going hard after poorly thrown balls.

I fixed it for ya!
I believe i read that Williams struggled to pick up multiple WR positions and was not able to play in the slot. I believe it was in a PR article I read that in, but I could be wrong.
Yes....but does he throw good parties?
4.43 official times. So was one of the only correct ones in the country who said he wouldnt break 4.4
Wideouts were doing two drills that showcase route-running and catching. On the first drill, they had each WR line up wide of the left hash mark, run straight ahead at the snap, cut back in to make the catch, and then turn upfield after the catch. Very few receivers were making sharp cuts off their break....some were slanting, some looked imbalanced, and some looked more polished. I saw Paul Richardson make a almost 90 degree cut and catch the ball in stride. Watkins made a sort of slanted cut and was out of position when the ball was thrown so he did not make the catch. On the second drill, WRs were lined up near one sideline, and they had to run straight across the field catching balls from a bunch of QBs along the route. The last ball thrown to them was next to the other sideline and they were suppossed to catch the last one inbounds and then head up the field. Watkins had some drops on this drill as well - I don't know if he was just disinterested or unprepared.

lol, i hope other teams hold that against him and he drops to #7. I've seen him play enough to know that he is a game changer.
Dri Archer is faster
I think Rich Eisen runs a mean 40. Put him in the slot and watch the tie flowing in the wind as he sprints down the field at a blazing 2 1/2mph.
I watched him run it the other year. That shit Was funny, though I don't think I could run it much faster....
I remember my first forty, coach thought the Titanic sank quicker.
I can't see the Rams passing on Watkins.
