Sorry, but consistently having plenty of cap space isn't synonymous with good management... especially when the team has lacked depth. What happened to all that rollover cap space that Bruce Allen left? Hint: There was no cap in 2010.
So you would rather have no cap space? Most teams dont get depth through spending, they get it through drafting which we have only done well the past couple years. Silver linings man.
I'd say a good manager is one who can deal with cap issues, not hide from them.
I would agree, but I think Dom did a good job dealing with those cap issues. I mean, after spending big the last three years and still having rollover cap space coming in, not sure how he doesnt get some credit for that. The only one I can think of that dances that cap line amazingly is Ozzie Newsome. New England, Denver, Pittsburgh, New Orleans are all feeling negative cap affects right now and are either still digging that hole or trying to climb their way out.
I'm sure those teams will "manage" their ways out of those negatives, too.
Im sure they will too. Just saying things could be a lot worse for us. We could easily have no depth and no money. Dom wasnt completely inept at his job, just 50% lol

He took over with about $70M of space, went 28-52, and now we only have $12M in cap space, and you think he deserves credit? And on top of that we're missing a 3rd round pick!

Which hails from the Revis trade. Either you want us to use our resources to bring the best here or you don't. Which one is it?

He took over before there was a salary minimum for teams to spend. His coaches went 28-52. We currently have $12M in cap space after signing VJax, Nicks, Goldson, Revis, and extending MWill. So yea, he deserves some credit. Not a ton or he would still be here, but some. Plus he helped jettison that used tampon of a QB Freeman...thats at least 25 bonus points right there.
I remember people saying here that Dom wouldn't be unemployed for more than a day.....so what happened?

"more than a day" is definitely an exaggeration, but if he wants to he will be employed again quickly even with a rough record as a GM.

I was against the Revis trade from the beginning. He invested the resources, as you put it, that could have been used for about 6 starters into 1 player. Dominik didn't build teams, he built a collection of big name players.

So you're saying he deserves credit for handing out bad contracts but not spending the very last dime in the process. Wow I guess Licht should send him a Thank You card!

You were against pretty much anything Dom did. I dont recall ever seeing a positive remark from you about any of his picks or signings. If you hated him so much what does it matter if we have 1 Revis or 6 "others"? You still bang the drum today about McCoy not being a good pick...what makes us think you would have been happy with any move?
Not even Dummynik is Dumb enough to get fired in a day.

None of those are "bad contracts". VJax is paid for what he is. Nicks is a case of bad luck. Goldson was a bad scheme fit, but his contract isnt bad. Revis' contract, while ample, is shockingly team friendly and Mike Will got paid #2 WR money. What else do you want?

So I disagreed with Dominik on just about everything, the team sucked, he got fired... and I'm wrong?

On everything? No. On some things? Yes. Serious question for you. Since the list is so small, can you give us the few things you liked that he did? If any?

Stop with the excuses. Nicks is a disastrous contract, Goldson as of now is a bad contract, Williams had a million and one signs he would shut it down when he got paid and I wanted him traded last year, as of right now he's a bad contract. Revis team friendly contract? If you mean releasing a player you just gave up a #1 and #3 for... yea real team friendly.

I liked moving down and still getting Barron. But he even screwed that up. Bucs were picking #5, Rams #6 (after huge trade with Redskins), Jaguars #6. There was an article about how Jeff Fisher wanted Blackmon and went ballistic because Dominik traded #5 to Jacksonville without calling the Rams. He could have gotten more from St. Louis. David was a good pick.
