Hey guys, I'm still on cloud 9 from Sunday night. I became a fan of this team in 2001 as a high schooler in Canada. I've been a fan ever since. My younger brother also became a Bucs fan because of me.
We have a strict curfew of 8pm due to the pandemic, so unfortunately I was not able to watch the game with my brother.. He would have had to sleep over, not really an option. Luckily, my brother in law owns the condo directly below ours, and he's a diehard Packers fan. We watched that game together, was pretty awkward, the wives could feel the tension in the room! But he hosted us to watch the Superbowl, we made a brisket in the oven, some bacon mac-n-cheese, a nice cole slaw.
Watching the game was surreal. I just couldn't believe the pressure we generated. I realize that it must have been a pretty boring game for someone without a rooting interest, but my bro in law was obviously pulling for the Bucs, and it made him feel better about the Packers loss, cuz the Packers looked MUCH better and more prepared.
As the 2 minute warning hit, I ran upstairs and got a rare and expensive bottle of scotch... I was waiting for the right time to crack the bottle, and my brother in law is also a big fan... we drank half the bottle watching Sports Center, all the post game interviews, talking football.
I took Monday off of work, was really hung over... I spent the whole day watching and reading articles, I re-watched the Superbowl. Just WOW!
Tell me your SB story! Who'd you watch with and how'd you celebrate?
