Every team has to deal with injuries. It's a fairly even playing field.
I agree in theory, but there is a pretty big difference between a team with 5 players on IR and a team with 13 or 14.
Big difference in who is on IR. WE've not got a lot of difference makers out. One guy in GB (Rodgers) is more important than all 14 of our guys. Keep in mind thyat neither Nicks or Martin were playing well before they got hurt.

Does it matter when most of those 13 or 14 are bottom of the roster guys
Funny, Gregg said we had all the pieces on defense earlier this season.
But while we are on it, Baltimore's offense was probably considered middle of the pack last year and that worked out pretty well. Shall we look at the Giants defense in 2011? Or how about that 2002 Bucs offense?
The BAL offense was mid pack but Flacco went buck wild in the playoffs so they didn't play like the same offense they were during the season. I guess you can hope for a similar transformation of your mediocre offense into an unstoppable scoring machine in the playoffs.
Just one example, but who said anything about stopping at "mediocre". You buying into the benchwarmer whine fest now?
If only Bowers would of had that 16-17 sack season like he predicted.
If only we still had Bennett.
Agree with that. If only schiano hadn't been bamboozled by those high draft picks on d lineman prior to his arrival.
Schiano watched all of his Defensive Ends play last year and decided to he could do without Michael Bennett. That can't be blamed on anyone else.
Schiano is right. We're an edge pass rusher and a better defensive scheme away from having a dominant defense.

Give it a rest. Nobody is blaming anyone else.

Right. Poor Schiano was "bamboozled by those high draft picks on d lineman prior to his arrival", but nobody is blaming anyone else.

You keep in mind that Freeman was still the "man" then too....When your QB acted the way he did off the field and performed as he did on it, that effects everybodys play on the offence

The Bucs just played a game in which they gained 183 total yards of offense. They stink with and without Freeman just the same.
Yep, we only need a few more high(ish) first round picks or highest paid players in the league to complete the defense all while the offense is left to be a complete joke.I wasn't one of the foaming at the mouth, rabid "Schiano must die" types but this clown has got to go ASAP.
Greg Schiano: Defense can be dominant December, 19, 2013 By Pat Yasinskas | ESPN.com
TAMPA, Fla. -- By his conservative standards, coach Greg Schiano said something that would seem to border on the outrageous Thursday. “We’re a couple pieces away from being a dominant defense,’’ Schiano said. Go ahead and throw out the reminders that the Bucs are 4-12. And let’s note that the defense is ranked 13th overall (15th against the run and 15th against the pass). Nobody is going to confuse the Bucs with the 1985 Chicago Bears or the great Tampa Bay defenses of the late 1990s and early 2000s. But I think Schiano has a point.
Bucs already lost their last 2 games of the season? Dammit...guess I won't watch this Sunday.

No need, I saw the game. It wasn't good.We had trouble consistently passing the ball. The line was manhandled all day long. We had a lot of flags and got into a lot of 2nd and long where we just ran into the line.On defense things were better, GMC and David looked good. Cook torched our safeties but we bottled up the run pretty well.Rams 17 Bucs 9.
Schiano added, "The best part is, we're only a couple of coaches away from being a competent offense."
