If only we still had Bennett.

Agree with that.  If only schiano hadn't been bamboozled by those high draft picks on d lineman prior to his arrival.

Schiano watched all of his Defensive Ends play last year and decided to he could do without Michael Bennett.  That can't be blamed on anyone else.

Give it a rest.  Nobody is blaming anyone else.

Right.  Poor Schiano was "bamboozled by those high draft picks on d lineman prior to his arrival", but nobody is blaming anyone else.

It was sarcasm dumbazz.  Stop looking for an excuse to argue with someone

Oooo, it gets touchy when called out on defending Schiano.  Sure, it was sarcasm.  That was kind of you to give Morris credit for drafting Clayborn and Bowers prior to Schiano's arrival.Or maybe you can stop trying to pretend you aren't defending Schiano.  You're not fooling anybody.

Every team has to deal with injuries.  It's a fairly even playing field.

I agree in theory, but there is a pretty big difference between a team with 5 players on IR and a team with 13 or 14.

Big difference in who is on IR. WE've not got a lot of difference makers out.  One guy in GB (Rodgers) is more important than all 14 of our guys. Keep in mind thyat neither Nicks or Martin were playing well before they got hurt.

You keep in mind that Freeman was still the "man" then too....When your QB acted the way he did off the field and performed as he did on it, that effects everybodys play on the offence

The Bucs just played a game in which they gained 183 total yards of offense. They stink with and without Freeman just the same.

I'm talking about the play of Nicks in particular, the comment was made that he wasn't playing well before he got hurt...

A couple of pieces would push this defense over the top:  Speed rushing DE... and an offense.

Nicks has not played up to his previous standard since he put on a Bucs uniform. He was damaged goods the day he signed.

Quite simply the odds are he was never that good.  He was a good player on a great offense that made people think he was a great player. He is in a large degree the offensive version of Goldson a player who is made to look better because of the mass of talent around him.

This isn't true.  Nicks was a monster before the injuries.  He wasn't Jermon Bushrod.

Nicks is, or was, a baller. However, brees's recordsetting quickness after the snap plays a little into his previous success. I don't think he was the exact same guy here, but those things are hard to tell. Especially now.

The problem is, so are SEVERAL other teams. Now, that means to me we need to develop a better OFFENSE before having a dominant defense will help us much more than having a defense that's "almost" dominant.   Sigh; guess this means we're drafting D early come 2014... Or is a statement meant to deceive our draft intentions???

Last year, true. I could see the difference. I thought he started much stronger this year than last tho'.

His presence never made our offense measurably better. He was never a monster here. Notice that NOLA hasn't missed a beat adding Grubbs?

He's actually right. All we need is a HC and a DC and we would be a dominant defense.
