The problem is the run game is not working...so if you are trying to run the football and not picking up yards to run out the clock you are only defeating yourself...its like fitting a square peg in to a round hole its just not going to work...

We know this, And Schiano is going todo the same damn thing till he is blue in the face..
He's a dummy , can't believe some of you really believed in this guy after we went 0-8
I'll just be devil's advocate for a second. Personally I think that Schiano is a bad coach, but I'll just try and justify him on this. We don't have the personnel to run a hurry up offense consistently. Glennon is a rookie and can't even call protections and audibles when given a lot of time, he isn't going to do it with half the time in between plays. We're playing a 4th string RB who only came on the team a few weeks ago. He will have less of a clue than Glennon. We don't have the depth at offensive linemen to switch people out either. Also you need to be in sync with more than 2 guys on offense. Schiano is just saying that he wishes that he could, but we can't.
Yeah but seemed to work yesterday

or after we won 4 out of 5 with his QB . . . . oh wait . . . . yeah . . . strike thatj/k I think most are skeptical. most of the support I read on here is of the "give him a full chance" variety
See this is just wrong, first downs burn clock. It is far better to get first downs and move the ball than to go 3 and out and punt.
Exactly. Those 3-and-outs were mostly the result of our attempts to run the ball. Schiano seemed to think running clock was more important than getting first downs...
In Schiano's NFL points don't matter its who uses the most clock.
Another Will Muschamp parallel. Disgusting. the football gods are punishing me.
Brilliant post OP.I have nothing to contribute. Your rhetorical "questions to the coach" were flawless. :)
Why were we trying to burn clock when we never had the lead? or anything close to the lead?

Because fans know nothing and Schiano is the best.....lol

That might be Schiano's best misdirect of the year.
I for one would NOT advocate running a hurry-up offense 100% of the time. But it is extremely obvious to me Glennon can even as a rookie run it very well, and it has the added benefit of greatly reducing opponents from stacking the LOS to stuff the run. New England uses it to set up the run very effectively. I have even heard Schiano comment favorably on using the pass to set up the run. Yet, we rarely seem to do this. I actually like the approach the Panthers have taken, in shifting between the hurry-up and the slower-paced offense. That has to drive opposing DC's nuts...
