The real question IMO is who are the Bucs trying to move on from in 2026, Braswell or Hall?

We need a long term solution at DE.

Meh. It can wait til the 2nd round.

Or in the draft next year. Or be replace through FA next year. Or re-sign Logan Hall at some point.

I have no idea why this guy is so worried about replacing Logan Hall next offseason.

Why worry about resigning Reddick either then?  They are both free agents after this year.  Who's more likely to be resigned, Reddick or Hall?  Even before Reddick sets foot on the practice field I'd say Reddick is more likely to be on this team in 2026 than Hall.  If you are using a first round pick on the D-line and you are thinking about bringing back Reddick and not Hall that changes the type of player you draft doesn't it?

Are you aware that Reddick and Hall don't play the same position?

Because one has proven they can be an elite player at a premium position, while the other is the epitome of a JAG.

Let us know if you need help figuring out who’s who.

I want the bucs to take an edge and a DL with early picks. Our Dl needs an extra rotation guy beside gaines. This draft is deep at DL so I will be upset if we dont take one. We dont need a safety necessarily and if we keep dean , we need just 1 corner.

I’m thinking a premium pick used on a DT gets more playing time than the same pick used on an OLB. Reddick is an upgrade, and Diaby and Braswell need reps to develop.
I’m hoping DT, ILB, CB, SS in no particular order.

Licht making a comment that meshes with your point

You know, there’s a lot of depth at interior defensive line, which would be good to (stops himself and pauses). You know, it’s always good to have great depth and be able to sub in waves [on] that defensive line. And we’ve seen that in recent years in the Super Bowl; the Eagles had unbelievable depth at defensive line this year.”

Exactly my point.  Why are we assuming that the need position is the Edge and not the DE position occupied by Hall?  Both can improve our sack production. I've been asking which prospects would be able to eventually fill that spot occupied by Hall.  Nobody seems to be able to answer that.

Have you noticed that nobody, outside of you, is worried about re-signing either Reddick or Hall at the present moment? Do you think there may be a reason for that?

It’s the GM’s job to think ahead. I think he makes a great point. DT is more important than OLB for the Bucs now. Our starting DTs only play about 50% of the snaps, anyway.
Kenneth Grant please.

Is the GM not planning on re-signing Logan Hall next offseason?

Is the GM not planning on signing any other DT’s this offseason or next offseason?

I promise both of you fellas that the Buccaneer organization will have Logan Hall’s roster spot filled in August of 2026, whether it’s Hall or someone else. As of March of 2025, it’s not even remotely a top-5 concern on this team.

@biggs3535 We don’t know Hall’s fate, but if they’ve got big money invested at DT, that will go to Kancey, I don’t see them also giving Hall big money too. They’re going to need a cheap replacement. But beyond that, whoever we pick, unless it’s a NCB or ILB, he’s probably not going to immediately start. I think a backup DT gets more snaps than a backup OLB and would be a more immediate help.

i hope they take the best player, not position, and I trust Licht.

@biggs3535 It was reported last year that Licht nearly drafted DT Johnny Newton. What has changed?

Perhaps it's because I'm a little more foreward thinking. Thanks for recognizing that.

Even if you draft BPA in the first round, you have to have an eventual place for that player to start in Year 2 at least.  The assumption which I'm questioning is that Reddick is a one year rental because of his contract. If that's the case then yes you could draft an edge and rotate them in, then next year they take over.  So the future of Reddick has a direct connection to the upcoming draft.  If you use that first round pick on an Edge rusher you are sealing the fate of Reddick as a one year rental.

A Day 2 pick is different.  Sure at that point you can add a good player and just see how things sort out in the future. Licht has said he likes the edge rushers that will be there in Day 1 and Day 2.   I tend to think it will be Day 2, but of course we don't know.  It's just fun to speculate.

Which prospects would best fit into the Logan Hall DE role?  That's a question about this upcoming draft, not the distant future.  That's a position where we can definitely upgrade, as Hall was described as a JAG on this very thread.  I'm acknowledging the fact that there are more knowledgeable people on this board than me, and I'm asking for their opinion. So far nobody has answered.
