@biggs3535 We don’t know Hall’s fate, but if they’ve got big money invested at DT, that will go to Kancey, I don’t see them also giving Hall big money too. They’re going to need a cheap replacement. But beyond that, whoever we pick, unless it’s a NCB or ILB, he’s probably not going to immediately start. I think a backup DT gets more snaps than a backup OLB and would be a more immediate help.
i hope they take the best player, not position, and I trust Licht.
@biggs3535 It was reported last year that Licht nearly drafted DT Johnny Newton. What has changed?
So now where adding a third position to this argument? Not sure why Kancey and Reddick are brought up in a discussion about a potential 2026 FA DE.
But I do agree with your BPA take. I will be surprised if BPA @ 19 is a 3-4 DE.
Hall will get something like 2 year 15m from a team like the Jags.
Reddick has a prove it deal.
Give me BPA with our first three picks and pray they are DE/LB/CB
Perhaps it's because I'm a little more foreward thinking. Thanks for recognizing that.
Yes, your self-proclaimed “out of the box thinking” has done wonders for you on this forum.
So far nobody has answered.
Yes, they have. Logan Hall’s roster spot in August of 2026 isn’t a concern right now. He’s not good enough to require the type of concern you are displaying.
Yes it's a prove it deal and Reddick has been referred to as a mercenary, but if Licht finds his next Shaq Barrett he'll work hard to find a way to keep him around. That's a big "if" of course, but I'm just saying don't assume Reddick is gone after this year.Hall will get something like 2 year 15m from a team like the Jags.

At 285 Scourton could be a guy who could be available in a trade down scenario. As much as mock drafters want to focus on sacks, there's one thing that has a higher priority in the Bowles defense and that's stopping the run. Being disruptive is the key. It doesn't matter who's credited for the sack as long as somebody gets to the QB. If a team wants to jump in front of Pittsburg at 21 to grab a QB like Dart or Milroe the Bucs could be a trading partner if they aren't absolutely in love with any of the players available at 19.@biggs3535 - thanks!
I do like Nic Scourton. He’s not overly athletic. More of a DE. Good against the run. Has a really nice spin move, which he loves using. I’d consider taking him early in the 2nd.
PFF Scourton brings an alluring combination of overall size and pass-rush moves to the edge spot, which gives him ideal versatility for 3-4 or 4-3 fronts. However, he does have some length and flexibility limitations. In his current state, he feels like a player who can disrupt and amass pressure but won't be a high-sack-count rusher.
Scourton seems like a 2nd round type of player, possibly early 2nd round.
Exactly my point. Why worry about resigning Reddick either then? They are both free agents after this year. Who's more likely to be resigned, Reddick or Hall? Even before Reddick sets foot on the practice field I'd say Reddick is more likely to be on this team in 2026 than Hall. If you are using a first round pick on the D-line and you are thinking about bringing back Reddick and not Hall that changes the type of player you draft doesn't it?The real question IMO is who are the Bucs trying to move on from in 2026, Braswell or Hall?
We need a long term solution at DE.
Meh. It can wait til the 2nd round.
Or in the draft next year. Or be replace through FA next year. Or re-sign Logan Hall at some point.
I have no idea why this guy is so worried about replacing Logan Hall next offseason.
Are you aware that Reddick and Hall don't play the same position?
Biggs knew it was your point and it was a fair point that’s why Licht mentioned. Biggs can’t handle fair points though.lol
it’s not even remotely a top-5 concern on this team.
It doesn’t have to be, right? An interior DL might be the intersection of BPA and need, especially if Reddick goes off.
there's one thing that has a higher priority in the Bowles defense and that's stopping the run.
That is true but even Bowles mentioned adjusting this priority.
I'm fine with everyone but Mykel Williams. I don't think he is a good fit here with Diaby/Nelson already having similar body types as edge guys. When I see Williams I see a great athlete but I don't like the leverage he plays with snap to snap. I like Pierce the most out of the group that could be available at 19. Pierce, Kancey, Reddick, and Vea on pass rushing downs just sounds like an absolute nightmare for teams to block with that type of size, speed and quickness.
I like Pierce the most out of the group that could be available at 19
Likewise.
Wouldn't hold your breath on Pierce. It sounds like the Bucs are out on him due to some concerns. Scott was implying this on the pod that he was basically off the Bucs board and some other teams boards without directly saying it.
Personally, I think the Bucs brass get too caught up in character stuff. Just pick the best player and talent. It sounds like Ezeiruaku will be the pick if he's there at 19.
Ethan Downs...go watch his highlights youtube..why is this guy not rated hire..most sites show him as 7th rounder
