smith-njigba dropping that 2 pt conversion probably decided the game … unless garoppolo screws it up

What a fucking dime by Baker there.

It’s the offensive line dumbass. Every starting QB can make that throw from a clean platform

Baker was scrambling on the throw dipshit.

 Stepping up isn’t scrambling.

Not only does this throw not come from a "clean platform" or "stepping up" into the pocket, this is thrown from outside of the pocket on the run. Hell, it's thrown from outside of the right hash marks on the run.

Helluva throw by Mayfield, excellent catch from McMillian, and laughable analysis from the Red Board GM.

about that play, awesome execution from baker/mcmillan but that was risky throw and mike was wide open in front of him, and I mean WIDE open with good opportunity to score as well. no clue why baker decided to go to mcmillan

Agreed, which is yet more evidence against the "Baker is forcing the ball to Evans" mantra that went on during a lot of this thread. That ball was "forced" to McMillan, because Evans was the much easier throw. Yet Mayfield elected for the more difficult throw to Mac. And, by god, he made it.

Damn mantras!

Evans averages just less than 8 targets per game (7.8). He was targeted 14 times in this game.

They threw him the ball with the lead and second remaining in a game that was a MUST WIN for the playoffs lol

Human nature, not controversy. He deserves it.

This was Coen

""I'm pretty aware," Coen said of his head-turning wideout’s situation. "He knows, obviously we're all aware, the team wants it just because of the human being [he is]. You want what's best for him with the team first mentality, that's who he is so it doesn't matter. But the guys all want it for him anyway."

awesome!

BOTH MISSIONS ACCOMPLISHED

Evans discussing

"I was hoping we get this out, because I can't pass up history, and Coach Bowles won't let it pass up or Liam, so I'm happy that they had me go out there and get that because it's been hard to do for 11 straight years," Evans told reporters. "... It was amazing, man. That made it that much sweeter, you know, NFC South champs, and then I'm tied in history with Jerry Rice...

"... I was getting that no matter what. I knew we were gonna get this ball [back], no matter what. After we got the ball back, I knew I was getting it, so I looked at coach Bowles and Liam, and they said, 'Go out there. We're about to try to get you this record.' So I wasn't worried at all."

"The conversation was like, 'All right, well, obviously we can't turn the ball over. Can't give them another chance, but how do we want to formate this play to get Mike the ball to where he can't get double covered?'" said Mayfield. "And that was what we came up with, and Mike did the rest, and he deserves that. This guy means so much the community, this team, this organization, for years, and for him to be able to reach that feat 11 years in a row and tie Jerry Rice is it's unbelievable."
