He was 6ft and 7/8 inch. So 6'1"....which is good for him. The 288lbs is great too. Unfortunately he had really short arms which will hurt him.

I was quoting a PR tweet with his measurements. I don't know where to find more accurate ones.

He our R2 pick in PRs 7 round draft. Just can't see using an R2 pick on a NT who is gone be used to eat up blockers.

No way is Donald a NT candidate. He is a pure UT who has first step quickness and a prowess to get after QB's...

Brian Price might be a bad example since he had a bum hip and was a bust, but we drafted him to be our NT and he was nearly the exact same size. Just had an extra 10lbs on Donald, but it was all gut. Not like Donald couldn't get fat if he wanted/needed too. Fact is, dude is built like a tank with very little fat. That 288lbs is muscle. He could carry 300lbs easily.

I think Spence makes a fine nose tackle. They just want somebody who can provide more of a pass rush from that position on 3rd down. I don't think using a 2nd round pick on a situational guy like that is a good idea.

if we drafted Donald wouldn't the point be to have him and McCoy playing on obvious passing downs and Spence on obvious running downs?

Trent Murphy is 6'5 3/8"....not 6'3". Sorry for the misinformation. Couple sources had it wrong. Still, I'm not interested in him at this point. 252lbs is just sooo thin for a guy that is over 6'5". Maybe he can fill out his frame, but it will take a 1st or 2nd to get Murphy, and I wouldn't spend that high of a pick on a guy that you are hoping can put on 20lbs or more, and then still play with the same explosion. He would need to show up at the combine at 265lbs+ and still have great explosion numbers for me to get re-interested.

Jordan Matthews and Derek Carr only players who stayed after practice to work.  Supposedly Matthews dropped a lot today (never a problem in his career though), but destroyed press coverage. Only guy to slow him down was Jaylen Watkins.

Not saying yes or no on Murphy, but how big do you actually think Simeon Rice was? Hint, he often weighed less than he was listed.

I like everything I saw from Michael Sam today. He is 6'1 1/2" 260lbs with freakishly long 33 1/4" arms. As of right now he is my #1 pass rusher in this draft. I know...crazy, but that's what my eyes see.

Supposedly Carr was clearly better than both Fales and Jimmy G today.

PR tweeted that Fales' ball fell apart halfway to the destination.

that's not freakish arm length.  now Davin Joseph, who is about 6'2" has 35" arms IIRC.

Yeah, 33 is basically minimum for a OT.

Guys like Rice and Aldon Smith can get away with 265lbs because they were such insane athletes and their game was based on beating their man with quickness and speed. Murphy is a guy that wins in college with his relentless motor and by overpowering his man with brute force. I don't see that translating to the NFL at his size. I'd compare him to Tank Carradine from last year. Tank was the same type of player as Murphy and was listed as 255lbs to 260lbs in college....but he showed up to the combine at 274lbs, which was very important for him imo. For that type of DE, I think you really need to be a solid 270lbs at minimum.

Yeah but he's not an OT. He's a DE and he's barely 6'1"

Listed 270 said he played at 255. Much more explosive player than Murphy.
