He's lost in the middle. It's just not working. But could he be salvaged if he lined up on the edge and just pass rushes and plays curl flat or manned up on a back. Something has to give because he sucks at MLB, Nelson might leave, Barrett might not be ready/efficient and JTS is a JAG

Definitely a bit perplexed they haven’t already tried him on the edge with Barret getting hurt this year and JTS struggling to finish. Tho Bowles isn’t the most creative coach in my opinion.

Would like some focus on players on the D-line and edge this FA agent period and draft.

Bowles is generally regarded as a master of disguising coverages and inventing exotic blitzes. I'd say that's creative.

Devin White may just not be cut out as an edge rusher. Yeah he's fast and pretty good bulk... but not much height, net real long armed guy, and doesn't really seem like a guy who would excel at bending and turning the corner against tackles. He's pretty straight-linish which is why his blitzes are mostly straight up the middle.

Can anyone think of an example of a player who thrived after that kind of move?

@buccaneernw we’ll have to agree to disagree with Bowles. Sure he blitzes a ton and sometimes that equates to him stringing together some good game plans from time to time. He’s way too inconsistent for me.

He had a good run of game in the playoffs when we won the superbowl and at the beginning of this year. Otherwise teams have had their way with him. He also doesn’t make in game adjustments which drives me nuts.

Micah Parsons played MLB at Penn State and some MLB his rookie year.

The question was whether he's creative. He is. That doesn't necessarily mean he's consistent or that he makes in-game adjustments, which are arguable points.

I just know I don't wanna pay devin white 100M that some team is going to do. Rah Rah guy but I rather pay Lavonte(who still hasn't lost a step) and winfield than 1 devin white

Hell I would trade him right now for a high second or low first to pick his replacement, I like white and all but take out all the sentimental value and emotion he's just not worth 20mil, just like Smith isnt worth 42m 3 years

Nobody wants the Bucs to pay Devin White. I think everybody is tired of the fact that he's a lot of talk, and his performance is inconsistent.

Trading him this offseason is the best case scenario, but I don't know if we can get more than a 3rd rounder. I'd take it.

I really wish the Bucs tried to deploy White like Parsons. Bowles insists he's a LB though and his contract is expiring soon. After last year, there's now way you can say he deserves an extension.

I am saddened that D. White has stalled his development. But it is okay that he is what he is so the Bucs don't have to shell out the big bucks for him.

Hated the pick and still hate the player. An absolute bust. How many of you didn't agree and defended him up until the end of this year... You've change your tune now. Trade that bum.
