"He's just as good as Dak"
"He's far superior to Cousins"
Not my quotes and I don't endorse them, but both of those QBs give the opening for that opinion because of their playoff records, right? Especially to a Mayfield fan with the recency of Mayfield's playoff performance for the Bucs. I think he's only 2-2 in the playoffs himself, but performed above exp this playoff. The rarer and more valuable trait (to some) is to be a big performer in big games.
All of that said, there are "extremes" on both sides.
If memory serves, Bucharbour said (paraphrasing) Trask has 9 or 10 wins this season if he was . . .allowed .. . to play because everyone knows Baker ONLY started because of experience!*
Even Biggs cant bring himself to admit that he called for Trask to start in October!
:-)
(*and thats before we even get to the "nice run, probably had 4 people open" late season game day threads!!)

I know it wasn’t you.
But, it is a ridiculous argument.
That would mean Blake Bortles is far superior to Baker.
Goff busted out with the Rams
Busted?
With the Rams, he went to multiple pro-bowls, multiple 4,500 yards passing seasons, went 42-27 as a starter, and lead his team to a Super Bowl appearance.
If that's busted, I can't help but laugh when you say you put Baker in that same category (when he hasn't even sniffed that type of success).
if Goff was so great, why did they get rid of him?
he wasnt good enough. and for being drafted 1st overall. yes - cant say being on a team for 4-5 years is what the Rams expected when drafting him. Baker is much more closer to the Goff category then he is to the others mentioned. Would think Rams fans would say Goff was closer to a failure than a successful draft pick.
Now Goff has already shown his resurgence with the Lions in year 3 so yes agreed Baker isn't quite there yet, but he is of the same mold is what i am suggesting.
if Goff was so great, why did they get rid of him?
Probably the same reason the Browns, Panthers, and Rams got rid of Baker.
They felt they could upgrade.
But, none of that disputes what I posted. You essentially labeled Goff a bust with the Rams, despite the multiple pro bowls, elite passing yards, and leading his team to a Super Bowl appearance.
Now Goff has already shown his resurgence with the Lions in year 3
Year 3?
Guess you missed the prior year when he went for nearly 4,500 yards and 29 TD's against 7 INT's.
Baker isn't quite there yet, but he is of the same mold is what i am suggesting.
Cool. Except he's not.
Goff has (and is) been superior in nearly every facet.
Can we just simply cut the bullshit of comping Baker to superior (and more consistent) players?

but Goff was a bust for the Rams
if they could go back in time, they would not have drafted him
remember they traded up to the #1 overall pick to get him so yes, many Ram Fans will say he busted out with them, despite the pro bowls which apparently only are good for Goff but meaningless mention when it comes to promoting Baker. Yes i agree pro bowl is meaningless.
and yes i agree that Golf is ranked higher than Baker on the quarterback ranking charts to start the 2024 season but in terms of bust high QB draft picks, Baker is closer to Goff then he is Zach Wilson, Mitch Trubisky, etc.
time will only tell as it comes to Baker
but Goff was a bust for the Rams
Uh huh.
Yes i agree pro bowl is meaningless.
Wait, you had multiple posts "hip hip hooraying" Baker for being the 17th alternate.
I guess when they're used to shoot down a flimsy argument, that's when they're meaningless.

Good. You should.
He is, and always has been, the superior QB.
but in terms of bust high QB draft picks, Baker is closer to Goff then he is Zach Wilson, Mitch Trubisky, etc.
Lol. Whatever.
That would mean Blake Bortles is far superior to Baker.
Maybe I should have said because of how they PERFORMED in the playoffs. lol
