This team has coaches to coach and captains to lead.
Have you played organized sports? This is an insane take.
no it’s not at all. I think Baker, Evans, Vea, Lavonte are more than capable of leading this team. We don’t need to sign veteran retreads for “more leadership.” It’s a stupid take that gets regirgitated every time free agents are available. “We need leadership, we need leadership…”
or another stupid take: maybe they can come back and coach. Like this is pee-wee football and guys can just come in and coach without ever having coached or even shown the slightest interest ever before
this team HAS leadership

You have a very myopic view of leadership.

yeah...i mean it was definitely Byron Leftwich's leadership on offense and not Brady, Gronk, Evans, Godwin, Jensen, Marpet, etc
Similar on defense...have you heard of Todd Bowle's rally cry. Move aside Vea, Suh, JPP, and David.....
Wtf is the point you think you're making here?
Lefty was a COACH.
I'm talking about player leadership. PLAYER.
clearly i was being sarcastic.....sorry doesn't always translate through text

are you just arguing to argue? Or do you really think this team lacks leadership?
Or do you really think this team lacks leadership?
the defense is loaded with leadership at every level
Vea, LVD and AWJ
Who knows if Reddick's leadership would be equal to Barrett but Reddick has so far been a good leader. This was in SI
""Reddick, who had 50 1/2 sacks between 2020 and 2023, hasn’t forgotten how to get to the quarterback, even though he had an awful 2024 with the Jets. At 30, he appears to be in his athletic prime, and is at the point in his life when knowledge and ability are intersecting quite nicely. Reddick also has been sharing his wisdom with younger Bucs pass rushers, but the way he can help them most is by attracting blockers. The expectation on this team is Reddick will have a productive season — and help teammates do the same."
OR has a couple article on him too.

Leadership isn't defined by whether you "have it" as an organization. Leadership comes top down and bottom up.
I think you can NEVER have enough leaders at multiple levels.

fair point
Isn't it possible Barrett loses though on the cost/benefit balance, especially if you believe (rightly or wrongly) that he is sort of washed as a player and especially with cap constraints.
It look like Reddick now has that role.

Idk what he has left in the tank with a full off-season workout. He's probably done but maybe not. If Diaby or Reddick get hurt, I don't love our depth... I think you could sign him to the practice squad and keep him stashed for injury weeks.
