There's no such thing as five year plan anymore. It's two years and then you better start winning in year three.Frankly, I think the Bucs can have a Kansas City Chiefs styled turnaround. I'm not against dismantling and rebuilding the offensive line and adding speed at receiver. I think we need to clean up the bad picks and dead weight on the defensive line, too. Finally, decide on the quarterback. Either Glennon is the guy you're rolling with or you need to make a move in the draft or trade. Can all this be done in one off-season? Probably not. But its not like the cupboard is bear here either. And who knows what improvement will come just from having a competent coaching staff?

Going by memory here, but I think the Chiefs added 21 guys under Reid/Dorsey. It just shows how much change occurs even with a talented core.

So nearly half the roster and a big time trade for a new QB. Plus they cut their starting LT and signed some big FAs like Sean Smith. They kept their very talented core, but to me that was "blowing up" the roster.

What LT did they cut? Brandon Albert?

Hopefully he retires with an injury settlement so we can save a lot more than $2M.

I don't know about blowing it up. Lovie is the type of guy who will rebuild as he goes and still win 10 games every year. Noway to a five year plan, but I'm all for doing as much as we can while still winning. That said, our O-line is old, over hyped, and over paid. You could definitely blow that up. I don;t think it's impossible to think we could cut Joseph, Nicks, and Zuttah.....and upgrade in FA with guys like Mack, Dietrich-Smith, and Asamoah. All better, younger options that would cost less. Joseph, Nicks, and Zuttah's combined average cap hit is $22M/yr. That is crazy money and we can do better. The secondary....that is tuff. We over paid for Goldson. I like him a lot, but he is an oldschool safety in a new school game. He's not worth anywhere near $9M a year, but we are stuck paying him that for 2014. After that he will probably be gone. Revis is awesome, but like I've said before, Lovie has had a top 10 defense for a decade without a CB like Revis. He isn't worth $16M/yr. If we could get a 1st round pick for him and replace him with two good veteran CBs like Shields and Verner (or Flowers in a trade), we'd have cap room left over and be better off. Banks hasn't impressed me, but you can't write a guy off after his rookie year. Barron is a keeper. D-line....Clayborn and McCoy are keepers...other than that they SHOULD blow it up and start over. Linebacker corps is solid. Running back corps is very solid. QB sucks. We definitely need a QB. We have one decent TE that is really a slow WR that can't block. We need a TE in the worst way. Stocker needs to go like yesterday and Crabs is fine depth. WR....this one is tough for me. VJax is awesome but old. He won't be great much longer. Mike WIll is great but he is an idiot and I feel like it's only a matter of time before he gets himself in trouble. Other than those two guys we have nothing. This draft is soooo deep at WR. It would be great if we could trade back, and trade some players to stockpile mid/late round picks and then take 3 or 4 receivers. This year provides a good opportunity to go over board and really revamp our WR corps. Blowing up the team sounds stupid....but when you look deeper, it really isn't such a bad idea.

Interesting...Qb was a rookie or nah?

There's no reason to "blow it up".  Continue to add pieces to the pieces that are in place

+1 Some fans can be so dramatic lol

Damn you guys are all gloom and doom, it's hilarious. I guess that's called being a Bucs fan in the post-Gruden (aka glory days) era. No this roster does not need to be blown up. Not even close. **CENSORED** guys. The wasted potential of this defense as a unit last year was stupid. It was as if Schiano and Sheridan were point shaving. It was crazy. If you don't believe me, check out all the stuff Steve White said all year. If the new coaches don't even touch the defensive roster before next season, this defense would be top 10 to 6 easily. That is not a joke. As I said, the scheme was so bad, it was kind of funny. Look at the talent on defense. Clayborn is pretty good guys. I hate to tell you. The other ends are meh but the big time guy on the line obviously is McCoy. It's hard for me to put into words how good McCoy is. Even with the coaches trying to **CENSORED** him up, sending him on crazy stunts and **CENSORED**, he was unstoppable. If any of you guys have games DVR'd or whatever, just go watch a few defensive snaps and watch McCoy. He doesn't only almost always beat his guy off the snap; he beats him like a damn drum. His get off and speed is stupid. With this staff who will let him hunt, he is going to be a DPOY candidate next year for sure. Going to the LBs, that whole group is solid. I like the group of SLBs, I think they're all more than serviceable. I also like Foster a lot and I think he continues to get better and better which is a good sign. Obviously the guy to look at though is my favorite current Buc, David. Everyone knows how amazing he was last year. He is so complete, it's mind boggling. He is a game changer. I think my favorite play from him this year was a play against the Saints in week 2 that showed how complete his game is. Brees (obviously an extremely cerebral QB) was in gun and changed the play. You see David all of a sudden start frantically signaling something to the rest of his defense which showed his brains and instincts. Then right before the snap he moves up to the end of the line and blitzed. He shed the back's block and sacked Brees. It was an all around amazing play which became common for him throughout the year.Onto DBs. Banks is young and already decent. He will continue to develop. Barron balled out last year from what I saw and Goldson played alright but he is an enforcer back there. The guy to look at though is Revis. Revis killed if last year. He was an island in man. How many DBs do you see knocking away slants regularly like him? Their scheme on the back end was dumb and Lovie is going to come in and design a scheme to fit the guys back there. So you look at the defense as a whole. There are multiple quality starters, and 3 (one at each level) absolute ballers. This defense definitely needs some pressure off the edge, and a better nickle corner which I'm sure this staff will target in FA and the draft. If they do, quote me right now, I guarantee that this will be a top 5 defense next year. Onto offense, and I don't want to go as in depth, but there are definitely great pieces all around.Oline, as many have said, definitely could be retooled. Penn is serviceable still but could be replaced. Assuming Nicks is still injured, his contract needs to go and Joseph should be gone as well. Dotson and Zuttah are good though and should stay. So clearly there are 2-3 spots on the offensive line that need to be replaced.Onto RBs. That is all 100% set. Martin, James, Rainey all ball. Lorig is good enough most of the time at FB imo. With TEs, Wright is very good. He became a weapon throughout the year. The Bucs still need more guys there but I seriously believe Wright can be a legit number one TE in the NFL.At WR, VJ is the definition of a professional and an awesome football player. He is clearly a leader who I hope can finish his career in Tampa. Mike Williams is a baller and one of the better number 2s in the league. The Bucs definitely lack speed and depth at this position though and need to find a couple more players who can contribute. Now onto QB. I'm not sure what the Bucs have in Glennon and I have no idea how this staff is going to approach that position. All I know is that this is now a legitimate NFL staff and I trust them, either if they roll with Glennon or maybe draft a guy to be their guy.So looking at this whole roster, it's easy to see there are a **CENSORED** ton of pieces in place and there will be plenty of cap space to make some more moves without having to cut any of the good players on the team. Just having a new staff here changes a lot. This team does not need to be anything close to blown up. They will make the playoffs next year. Relax guys, it's going to be exciting.

Oh...I see. For a second, I thought Glennon was a rookie. Clearly, I'm mistaken.

I personally would not mind if these guys came in and totally wrecked shop and put forth a 5 year plan. I think the only safe guys on the roster should be Martin/David/McCoy/Barron/Banks. I really don't like the idea of a quick fix. I think that would get us a few wins and maybe a run or two early.. but it wont create a team of depth and 10 year run like we had under Dungy. Right now we have 5 picks in this draft.. We could likely stockpile some picks by moving Revis/Joseph/Goldson(maybe)/ Jackson. All of these guys are approaching or at age 30 and have some value. I don't see any of these guys being productive 3 years from now. Why not cut bait, acquire picks, reload and build this team for a long term run. Just a thought.

I expect a turnover of about 20-25 guys this year....

The roster needs to be revamped, that's for sure. They are not a "few pieces" away.

This team could use lots of upgrades, but we are really only a good QB away from being a playoff team IMO

So are the Ravens.
