Aqib Talib suffered rib or knee injury on hit from Wes Welker January 19, 2014 By Larry Brown Fox SportsAqib Talib was knocked out of the AFC Championship Game early on after being picked by Wes Welker on a crossing route the Denver Broncos ran in the second quarter, costing the New England Patriots one of their key defensive stars. The Broncos ran several short drags and crossing routes early in the game and used their receivers to pick off New England’s defensive backs. On the play in question, Welker collided with Talib, knocking the Pats cornerback out of the game. Talib was taken to the locker room for examination and later returned to the team’s sideline, though he did not go back into the game. The injury was initially said to be a rib injury, but the Patriots later said it was a knee injury. Whatever the case, the Patriots were without their best defensive stopper, which left them extremely vulnerable against Denver’s stellar passing game. Many people were wondering whether Welker’s hit on Talib was legal, and FOX NFL rules guru Mike Pereira explained that it was.
The Broncos were expected to move the ball whether Talib was in the game or not, but it certainly hurt New England being without him. Aqib Talib supposedly told reporter ‘get out my face motherf—er’ after gameJanuary 19, 2014 By Larry Brown Fox SportsAqib Talib isn’t exactly the friendliest character around. He does interviews and talks to reporters, but he may not have been in the mood to talk with the media after he was knocked out of the AFC Championship Game in the second quarter and watched his team lose 26-16 to the Denver Broncos. After the game, New York Post NFL reporter Bart Hubbuch tweeted about an interesting confrontation he had with Talib:
People usually don’t say “get out my face, motherf—er” unless they’re prompted in some way, so it’s possible that Hubbuch is leaving out a detail. Who knows? Maybe he jumped into Talib’s face before Talib was ready to speak. Or maybe Talib was just so upset he went off on Hubbuch because he really didn’t want to talk to the media. After the way his season ended, who can really blame him for being upset?
Ban this right after they ban the wham block.stupid crap.
They just keep adding new definition to "pick" x)
HAHAHAHA Talib.
Talib being Talib.Ha ha

OPI? No way. The ball was un-catchable, just as explained in that Panther game where the receiver was held and the ball was intercepted. ::)NFL rules suck anyway.
Hmmm...so Talib wasn't truly in the NFL until he got to New England. Funny how people show their true colors when adversity hits. This is the Talib that I remember wearing Pewter.

I can also imagine there has to be a certain level of humiliation that comes from getting injured by one of those notorious Welker hits..............LOL, I couldnt even type it without laughing.
Pick plays are illegal but rubs are not. Whole long discussion of what is an isn't illegal here: http://mmqb.si.com/2014/01/15/new-england-patriots-denver-broncos-afc-championship-game-pick-plays/ They try and explain what is and isn't illegal but the basic logic is that it is up to the refs.
I pity the team that gives him a long-term deal ....old ghetto Talib is coming out in full force once he gets his garanteed payday.
If they make pick plays illegal, Brady and Manning wouldn't be "entertaining" us like they did in the AFCCG any longer... so, yes.
Every cabbie in Boston should be put on high alert.
