Belichick is ticked off big time. He wants Welker fined or suspended. He said its the worse play he ever saw, where a guy gets injured.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah !!
I don't think it should be banned but there are some times where picks are blatant, like when the receiver just runs straight at the DB like the Welker play. With DBs not being able to look at receivers funny, it seems pretty unfair that receivers can get away with just throwing themselves at DBs. This rule, like others, just needs to be enforced better. It all goes back to refs not knowing the rules and being insanely inconsistent. This has been one of the worst officiated seasons I can remember, with numerous blown calls, missed calls, and a ton of blatant disregard for the rule book (seven man on line in Chargers vs Chiefs, BJGE being clearly down by contact vs Colts, Seattle taking out Lee's plant leg yesterday, etc.). The NFL needs to make these refs full time employees and fire some of the current guys. It's gotten laughable how bad it is now.

I think Belichick is taking this a little too personally. There was nothing dirty about what Welker did.

And Welker's explanation is, he went high, thinking Talib would go low, and no big collision. I don't know how you would legislate something like that. If the defender is not looking, its a pick play? The rules are already F-uped as it is, we don't need any more "cloudy" areas, as far as the rules go.

I thought it was definitely interference. I don't mind crossing routes but the pick plays need to be flagged more often. It is cheap and Welker was not even looking to catch a pass. It was blatant. It was a cheap shot.
Blowing up Talib should be legal in all circumstances.

Well, that is why coaches say, keep your head on a swivel out there.
I thought pick plays were already illegal. Rubs aren't.

And of course Welker wasn't looking to make the catch. Neither is every other OL in the history of football that goes to the second level to block. They are looking to block.
Its curious Talib and Belichick take zero responsibility. Talib never saw him coming, and he should have. Talib should of said later, you know, he got me good, but I should of had me head up. Good hit by Wes. But of course its Talib, he is not going to say anything like that. Too busy teliing MFing media to get out of his face.
Solution is obvious.Just ban blocking.

Sooooo rugby?
LOL that some people think Talib actually would have made it all the way through that game had it not been for that play.
