Bowers is effective as a situation pass rusher but the guy isn't cut out to be a 3 down guy until he proves it.

He's 23 and has a base salary under a million. I'd let Lovie kick the tires instead of giving another coach a chance to tap into the potential.
See I keep hearing about this potential but guys with that flash.. Usually when you have guy with massive potential, once or two twice in a game he'll do something that makes you say "wow, did you see that?"... Bowers has never done anything remotely close to being special so I'm wondering what is this eruption we're waiting to see. He couldn't even do anything against 3rd stringers in the preseason.You can look at a guy like Gholston with his rookie season and say we probably got a solid player there... With Bowers you have to look at back his senior year in college and he's going in to his 4th year in the league.I would say let Lovie kick the tires and see what he looks like in Training camp but if we bring in a UDFA that flashes SOMETHING I'm picking him over Bowers easily.
except Bowers HAS shown flashes. There are plays where he's incredibly disruptive. Look a few posts up. He was our most effective pass rusher on a per play basis. For whatever reason, that kept him on the bench
