Interesting idea, JDub! I doubt the majority of owners would vote for it, tho'. You've given me another idea; determine draft order from the last TWO seasons combined record. I HATE that the Falcons were a play or 2 away from the Super Bowl in 2012, then tanked this season and are actually picking AHEAD of us!
Where I do think a lottery should come into play is as a tie break instead of or combined with strength of schedule. That being used to decide draft position just seems backwards. Your division is great, ok, have a worse draft pick and try to catch up.
Talking about crazy shit that will never happen, I would love to see the league tie revenue distribution to team record. That would end any "tanking" immediately, among many other positives. I would be against changes to further reward failure.
Would you guys really want that with the Bucs' luck and all!?
I am an optimist (and an American damn it!).
If there was a lottery, the Bucs would end up picking 32nd for the first three years it was implemented. #ItsaBucsLife
No. Leave it alone. This season is an example...had a lot of so-called "nada to lose" teams floating around past mid season. And they seemed to play hard. Bucs and Jags come to the fore, as well as Cleveland.

I don't think the Falcons tanked, I think they were just not a very good team, with poor depth, and aging players in key positions. Who would they be tanking for? They don't need a QB. Clowney maybe? He is good, but I wouldn't tank my season for him.
And as far as the draft goes, I would leave it the way it is. If you start getting into lotteries and such, it opens the door to corruption.

Totally agree, and excelent point about charges of corruption. Even if completely on the up and up, the first time a long shot lottery winner hits, everyone will be charging shenanigans. The NFL doesn't need or want that kind of doubt about its credibility added to legions of fans who already cry conspiracy over every PI penalty called.
NO. I firmly believe the NBA Lottery is rigged. So HELL no.
