I remember a game from a several years ago when a defensive player was called for 15 yards for removing his helmet on the field after a play was over at the end of the game on 4th down. It resulted in the other team getting a shot at a winning FG.Take a look at this pic and see the official NFL rule below. https://www.pewterreport.com/articles/bucs-let-another-one-slip-away-lose-19-13-in-ot/ REMOVAL OF HELMET (h) Removal of his helmet by a player in the field of play during a celebration or during a confrontation with a game official or any other player. Note 1: Under no condition is an official to allow a player to shove, push, or strike him in an offensive, disrespectful, or unsportsmanlike manner. Any such action must be reported to the Commissioner. Penalty: (for a through h): Loss of 15 yards from succeeding spot or whatever spot the Referee, after consulting with the crew, deems equitable.
