We should be looking to upgrade at QB regardless of anyone's SB performance

I don't think there was any blueprint drawn up in the Super Bowl as to how to beat drop-back passers.  Manning has been losing big games for a long time... and it didn't help that the defense forgot how to tackle.

Vegas rigged the game! They paid players to take a dive.

If we dont upgrade our OL it matters very little who the QB is.

The thing is you can't choose when you're going to get a great QB. You get so few chances on one, when you see him you have to take him and sort everything else out later because you may never get that chance again for a long time.

The Seahawks have a pretty good offensive line.  I would say definitely top half.  Maybe top 10?  Barely though, if they make that cut.Quarterback play is so vastly far and away more important then offensive line play it doesn't even warrant discussion.  Our quarterback play vs league average was equal to (really pretty damn close) our offensive line play vs league average.  We assume that Mike Glennon will play better next season for a number of reasons.  Most of which I agree, I also assume Mike Glennon will play better in 2014.  Still, if it is a financially viable option, I would like to also have a second quarterback on our roster who I have seen play well above Mike Glennon 2013 level.  There are a couple available.  Just in case Mike Glennon 2014 ends up being closer to Mike Glennon 2013 then we think.

I agree 100%...however I dont see any of the options in the draft this year as a great QB.

I don't believe looking at superbowl and playoffs as logical to base your system upon it. By the time you would make the team the way a contender is now, later you will be out of date. I believe in creating your own thing. With that said, because of league rules now swayed towards protecting qb's, the current trend will be to have a mix of run and pass from the qb spot. It's one of the reason's manziel should be coveted, maybe tb too. Now more than ever though, qb's have to make explosive plays.Rolling the dice sometimes has it's rewards. The seahawks are a good example of that.

They were on the verge of top 10 and went most of the season without their starting tackles...so yea, they are pretty good.  I would also like a 2nd QB that is better than Orlovsky or however he spells his name.  I just dont want to draft one as I dont think this year's draft is giving us a ton of value at that position.

It might make them more likely to take a short, mobile QB

+1, that is the issue, "franchise" QBs are rare and, therefore, so are your chances to get one .. .  you just have to do your homework and hope you make the right choice when you have the chance (see Freeman)

Are the days of the drop-back passer slowly fading in the NFL? Does the future at the QB position consist of players like Russell Wilson, Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick? What does this mean for incumbent Bucs starter Mike Glennon? Read what new Tampa Bay QB coach Marcus Arroyo thinks about Glennon's future and if he is the right fit. https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=9621:&Itemid=15

Did you miss the game?  Seattle's D won the Super Bowl last night.  Not Russell Wilson. That'd be like writing an article after the Bucs won the Super Bowl titled: "Should all NFL teams go get tall, slow, old QBs?"

No actually didn't watch it, a new Downton Abbey was on, but my wife filled me in on it this morning as I was getting my eyebrows plucked and a pedicure. Of course I watched it and several other Seattle games this season. And of course Seattle's defense deserves a ton of credit, but the last No. 1 D to win a Super bowl was what 10 years ago? It isn't all about defense anymore. And having a mobile guy who can extend plays (like Wilson) versus a guy who doesn't move well (Manning) was a big factor in this game especially when the Seahawks were building their lead. How many of those Seattle plays would have Glennon have been sacked on in the first two quarters? More than one.Without Wilson's mobility, the Bucs would have beaten the Seahawks this year. How many plays did Wilson get outside and make key throws in that game?
