Well, for a second year quarterback he's actually pretty historically fucking good now. Individual statistics, offensive statistics, team results, however you want to look at it. Look at how giddy some people are with first year Mike Glennon around here?

Having Peyton Manning as your QB sounds great but where does it meet up with reality? I'd like to marry Kate Upton but that's not grounded in reality. Peyton Manning was drafted in 1998. Bill Clinton was still president then. So you can either wait your whole life for the next Peyton Manning to come around and hope you have the #1 pick that year, or you look for a player who can do 85-90% of what Manning can do, like Wilson, and move on with your life and try to win a championship.

Picking QB's early is risky....if you miss, it sets the franchise back years....and missing is happens far more frequently that hitting.

Especially true when the coach knows his team is better than his opponent at just about every other position. While a good QB can make up for a lot of faults at other positions, a QB who turns the ball over is just as capable of negating all the superior work put in by his teammates by causing his team to lose...

He is always cool, calm and unflappable. So when he sailed his first pass about 10 feet over the WR's head, I said uh-oh. But he settled in nicely after that.
I think its best to have a QB that could take off if need be. He doesn't have to be Barry Sanders, but just enough to keep the defense honest.

He didn't do much of anything else either . In the 1st playoff game he only threw for 103 yards and 0 TD.in the 2nd playoff game he only threw for 215 yards and 1 TD.SO you are basically just telling us he played the Trent Dilfer caretaker role ....congrats to him. ::)
The difference between between Wilson and Newton or Special K is his coolness under fire. They are both more athletic, but were a tad out of control at times in the playoffs. And THAT to me is what makes Wilson special; he's NOT your typical mobile QB.

I don't get your point, then. On one hand you say Russell Wilson isn't all that because he's not as good as Peyton Manning and then you say using a 1st round pick on a QB is overrated. Well, I'm sorry, but how many non-1st round QBs do you see that are better than Russell Wilson?
