In the games I have watched he makes plays inside and outside the pocket.  He really is very accomplished at the position.  He is not going to make you forget of Brady, Manning....but he gets it done.  Insofar as his passing skills, I thought the same thing initially, then watching him play more often - his play should change one's mind.

Really the big part of the point of the story was about the mobility.  I believe Glennon would have had multiple sacks in the first half of that game and it could have ultimately changed the outcome. Seattle's defense was lights out. No question, but getting the early lead certainly helped the Seattle defense and made the Broncos more predictable. Maybe a few of those avoided sacks would have pushed Seattle out of FG range. And the play-action roll outs Seattle uses are completely different than the Bucs as the linebacker or  CB/safety has to not only respect the throw but also the run. When Glennon ran a bootleg, did any opposing defenses think for a second they needed to worry about Glennon? And lets go back to the Bucs-Seahawks game when Glennon attempted to pick up a first down late in the game and bailed. I would have also with Chancellor bearing down on me too, but a mobile quarterback has a chance to avoid a safety and get those three yards to extend the drive and potentially secure the win.QBs that can extend plays and convert key third downs with their feet are demoralizing to a defense. Without Wilson's ability to get outside and make throws, Tampa Bay wins that game. (would have also helped to tackle Tate on the punt return also)As I stated in the story, all the matters is what the coaching staff thinks at this point though. Until Tedford can get a full evaluation, it all just speculation at this point. But if the Vick rumors are true, then at the very least the staff is beginning to believe they need a quality backup if not someone to come in and compete for the starting role. And really the perfect contrast was Manning on the other side of the field. If there was even a tad bit of mobility there, perhaps, at the very least, it would have been a competitive game.Anyone who is comparing Wilson's Super Bowl season to Dilfer's is a bit crazy in my opinion. And Trent would be the first one to tell you that.

Russell plays with absolute garbage at receiver and tight end since Harvin and Rice were out for pretty much the whole year. Fact is other than a couple times late in the year, after he'd gotten a bit gun shy from all the hits he took this year playing with a really inconsistent OLINE, he's been one of the best QBs in the NFL since he came into the league. And now he has a ring.

True ....Wilson's stat line in that 1st playoff game against New Orleans would have embarrassed even Trent Dilfer....103 yards , 0 TD's . LOL

I was clearly joking . Everyone knows Wilson is better than Dilfer , but make no mistake , he's still a caretaker and not an elite QB in this league at this point. The Seahawks win with defense and a strong running game.

Are the days of the drop-back passer slowly fading in the NFL? Does the future at the QB position consist of players like Russell Wilson, Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick? What does this mean for incumbent Bucs starter Mike Glennon? Read what new Tampa Bay QB coach Marcus Arroyo thinks about Glennon's future and if he is the right fit. https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=9621:&Itemid=15

That's the new "fad"....mobile QB's have early success but generally don't sustain year in and year out.  Do you honestly believe that if Seattle had Manning under center rather that Wilson they wouldn't be 100x better.  Wilson is, for the most part, a game manager....he's solid, protects the football, and can make a few plays with his feet when plays break down.  Lets not confuse Seattle's success with Wilson being a QB phenom.  The superbowl boiled down, essentially, as a 1vs11 chess match...Seattle's defense won.

Having Peyton Manning as your QB sounds great but where does it meet up with reality? I'd like to marry Kate Upton but that's not grounded in reality. Peyton Manning was drafted in 1998. Bill Clinton was still president then. So you can either wait your whole life for the next Peyton Manning to come around and hope you have the #1 pick that year, or you look for a player who can do 85-90% of what Manning can do, like Wilson, and move on with your life and try to win a championship.

Problem is....having the number 1 pick doesn't mean anything.  The draft is a complete crap shoot.  That's one thing many poster around here can't seem to grab....just because you spend a 1st round pick, even the 1st pick overall, doesn't mean you have a franchise quarterback....doesn't even mean you have a good quarterback .  Picking QB's early is risky....if you miss, it sets the franchise back years....and missing is  happens far more frequently that hitting.

I'm amazed at the so-called 'experts' around here who are so willing to run Glennon out of town without looking at the "whole" picture. Let's start with Wilson, as he is basis for argument.  Wilson in NOT a rookie, he's in his second year and was Seattle's starter coming out of TC his rookie season, playing in a Darrel Bevell offense.  Surely, you know who Bevell is.  Glennon is a rook, not expected to start unless disaster, and that's what happened, a disaster. He's playing in a out-dated offense, with ZERO creativity and zero ability to make adjustments.  We had 3 players, IMO, on offense that might start on another NFL team. Street FA's at TE, RB, #2 and #3 Wr, and, of course, are always over-rated o-line.  Our defense gave up a number of leads late in games, for instance the Seattle game that we lead 24-0.  Might the defense have helped a bit, and the 2nd half playcalling was atrocious, on cue.  IMO, the guy did OK, considering the absolute circus and incompetence going on around him.  Don't know any rookies who could have done much better given the same circumstances.  Let's see what he can do with some viable NFL talent around him on offense and a competent coaching staff around him.Did you notice how many time he was asked to roll out left, then pivot around and try to throw?  That is pathetic coaching/playcalling IMO..Really disappointed how so many fans and so-called "experts" are so willing to run this guy out of town, without giving him a fighting chance.  Theres a lot to be critical of his game, but a lot of the criticism has crossed the line into personas insults and attacks, which is pretty sad statement on the knowledge and even character of our fans.  Time will tell how Glennon improves or regresses.  But, honestly, I'd like nothing more than to see him succeed, if nothing more, to see him stick it in the face to all those who didn't give him a fair evaluation, and especially those who are downright nasty and disrespectful. I've long thought this was one of the worst fanbases in the NFL, but there's no doubt now.

A bust is a player that just flat out sucked. Griffin is in danger, but I feel a bit biased because I don't like him so I didn't touch him lol.

it should be easy to get one of the nfls most mobile, accurate, hardworking qbs.  I mean, we all know bridgewater, bottles, manziel, Carr and garraoplo can do it.
