More so Goedeke , he handled Jordan

ol giving up a sack per game …..mobile Mayfield helps too , but some good blocking upfront

I said this before that PR article came out, but Goedeke and Wirfs were bright spots MNF. Despite the rest of the OL being a train wreck I noticed that the exterior blocking was stout. Was not sure how he'd hold up against Cam Jordan but he proved that he belongs. He was very good yesterday and if he keeps it up rest of the year - we'll have two long-term OL starters.

Jury still out on Mauch and Hainsey (we all know Feiler is a stop gap)

Not going to argue with this, but I'll just say if it wasn't for the defense being dominant there wouldn't be so much praise going around for Mayfield or for in this case the O-line.  Because we'd be losing games, and when we are losing games, we look for who to blame, not who to praise. The defense was missing a couple pieces, but it didn't matter.  They didn't give up a touchdown.

But anyway, back to the O-line.  Yes, Mayfield has a good pocket awareness and ability to move around while keeping his eyes downfield.  But also, the pocket isn't collapsing on him.   He's getting time to throw the deep balls.  And the Saints are supposed to be good at pressuring the QB.   There were a couple times when White actually found some holes and started to churn out some yards on the ground.  It wasn't consistent, but it was an improvement.   But neither Vaughn or Tucker have found any running room.   I don't know if that's all on the RB.  The defense seemed to know when they were getting the ball and collapsed on them in the backfield.  I don't exactly know what's going on there, but they need to figure that out.

Nevertheless, the O-line was by far the biggest question mark going into the season.  They along with Baker Mayfield were the reason TKraz was predicting 4-13 and others were predicting that we'd be in the running for Caleb Williams.  And so far they are holding their own and in that respect they are one of the main reasons we are winning.
