Brian Orakpo - LB - RedskinsRedskins assigned the franchise tag to OLB Brian Orakpo. The OLB tag is worth $11.455 million. Orakpo becomes the fourth NFL player tagged, joining Saints TE Jimmy Graham, Panthers DE Greg Hardy, and Jets K Nick Folk. We were surprised to see a groundswell of support among "Skins fans" for letting Orakpo walk when he's going-away their most valuable player on defense. Although Orakpo has yet to truly realize his immense potential, he's a 27-year-old edge presence who fills hard against the run and recorded ten sacks last season. Refusing to let Orakpo hit the market was a no-brainer move by GM Bruce Allen. The Skins can now use the rest of the offseason to build around their standout OLB duo of "Rak Attack" and Ryan Kerrigan.Mar 3 - 1:28 PM
He might hold out
Brian Orakpo - LB - RedskinsNFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Brian Orakpo has "no plans" to sign his franchise tender, and it "may be a while."The team was aware of this "risk" when it tagged him. Orakpo doesn't need to sign the tag to negotiate a long-term deal with Washington, which surely would be GM Bruce Allen's preference. Orakpo is free to skip pre-training camp activities as long as he's not signed. The Skins retained DC Jim Haslett's system, so missing OTAs would be of no concern for Orakpo's performance.Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter Mar 3 - 2:07 PM

I couldn't imagine how tough Green Bays pass rush could have been with Rak and The Claymaker.
